threat.at 0 Posted April 24, 2004 I have replayed the situation again and again - and if I had the possibility to see the fight from the eyes of the bots it would be clear for everyone. It's OK, that a sniper gives me a headshot before I can see him - that's the principle of a sniper. But it's not fair, that a soldier with an AK47 manages the same through a bush and from a distance, that I can't see him. He hits me without a glance of seeing me. I HATE THIS! Â And this problem has nothing to do with my resolution 1024x768 - with 1600x1280 it would be the same. The detail levels are rather high. It has also something to do with the difficulty level of this game, which cannot be changed - only the own handicaps can be roughly changed between "Cadet" and "Veteran"... but the AI level of the enemies cannot be changed. Aaargh! Where's my M21?? Â
Albert Schweitzer 10 Posted April 24, 2004 try to stay low! and you can crawl up to the soldiers boots and he wont see you. Dont run on top of hills! Always stay near trees. For me that just works fine. Thats the realism factor, sometimes you have to face good soldiers
Friedchiken 0 Posted April 24, 2004 The #1 advantage humans have (or don't have) over bots is that they can hide, plan, and react faster than bots can. But yeah, the current shooting method for the ai is kinda tacky. Still, we aren't sure if you know how to take cover yet and not to fire som much at the ai returns fire. benu 1 Posted April 24, 2004 ... but the AI level of the enemies cannot be changed. afaik super ai does just that... and missions makers can test for cadetmode and change the skill of the ai inside the mission accordingly...
threat.at 0 Posted April 25, 2004 @benu: But if the mission developer doesn't do so, the changes in difficulty won't result in anything... .oO(when will finaly OFP2 release - I am so curious already - and I hope, the bigger part of this problems will be taken care of)
Friedchiken 0 Posted April 25, 2004 Everytime you ask for info from BIS about OFP2, the devs kill a kitten. Stop asking kitten killers
