New island in progress

We don't need kids. This is a war game. Go play with some other game if you want kids.

A good idea may be an extensive airport, like a normal international airport.

JoergF (addon-maker of the great baracken-addon) from german [Mapfat]-Team is working on a lovely looking Tower for airports right now. Should be released in the next few days/weeks.

Heh I've seen it before. You gotta watch the airport's location. If not, your glidepath ends up on the 52nd floor of an office building inside an H&R Block office... and you think I'm kidding...

PS If you can supply the facilities (Jetways, enterable terminals), BDM will supply the aircraft. biggrin_o.gif

We've already got plans for some civ aircraft such as the 757 and 737, because we planned for the US Government versions of such aircraft. Yeah, release is a loooonnnnggggggg time away, but it's good to prepare!

No, i know it. It's nearly the same on the two FDF-Islands (East-Border and East-Border/Winter). There are very short runways, a hill on the one end and a forrest on the other. Really hard to take off with the Mig if you aren't used to it (and don't use a joystick).

Martin's DC-3 is a very nice Civil-Aircraft, too. Very deteild and with a lovley design.

Yeah, and in this case, we're talking about a much lower, slower glideslope. They optimize most runways at international airports for big planes, and they have low n slow glide paths.

BTW: isn't there an enterable terminal included in the BAS_Tonal-Pack? Could be more detailed, but the building itself is very nice.

Yeah, if he doesn't put something enterable in, first I'll lynch him, then I'll texture my own terminal and implement it.

Don't worry, I already have an enterable restaurant, you'd think something like a terminal would at least be partly enterable. smile_o.gif

Btw I'll work on the airport after Chinatown, since all of you guys seem to really want a good one. To me Chinatown is 90% complete so I'll start on the airport ASAP. smile_o.gif

If you are patience for about a week or so, i'm sure i could send you the tower made by JoergF. Just tested it and it'S awsome! Or I'll give you his eMail address. That should of course work, too!

Yeah sure I can wait, plus since March break is almost over (that explains my fast work biggrin_o.gif ) I won't have as much time to work on it so it might be done in a week or two (the airport).

After I'm done the island the buildings can be used, since I'm constantly updating and redoing buildings, if I gave you them now at the release of this island yours would be outdated. Plus theres not that many right now, just china town, a bus depot, 2 warehouses, 2 apartments, etc, just not that much. sad_o.gif

Thats very much. There's the rest of that, what I need for my island. But it's ok, I can wait. I better use the final buildings.

I think what most islands are missing is that special place where you can look out across a vast distance and admire the beauty of the island. I really want to be able to look out across this city.

All of the rooftops have defined "roadways" so you can walk on them, I'm sure there will be a really tall skyscraper maybe you can look can look down from.

I know how to make ambient sounds, but im not sure how to place them in a map, like assign certain sounds. Persoanlly I think you should make it up to the mission editor to place sounds. Make an addon that contains all your sounds so they can be placed in triggers and such. I.E. if you have a city sound with voices off in the distance and stuff or car sounds then if somebody wanted to make like a zombie mission your map would be not so great for them. Anyways the config for ambient sounds are pretty easy, you can even take a look at agent smiths pack to see how he included it in with his buildings and such in a pbo.

You can't place them in the map you can only give an ambient sound to ground textures. Other ambient sounds do you have to place in the mission editor.
