dinger 1 Posted January 13, 2004 Hey Wick, good luck with the project. We can use more guns of all kinds. If you're looking to use UA with it (and that goes for any of you artillery folks out there), drop me an email. Heck, even if you're not, I've got some tricks that could come in handy. Wick_105 0 Posted January 13, 2004 thanks dinger....but as it stands right now the models arnt going that good and I dont know how to config the damn things I have one gun that could be in game(with no texture) but I cant get it going and keep the pics comming guys the more pics I have the better these will look
Rudedog 0 Posted January 13, 2004 Here is my 2 cents. How about the M110A2?
sniperuk02 0 Posted January 13, 2004 that would be nice ecspeacialy with nuclear shells which fire shorter than the blast range of the nuke best of luck to you need artiliry
Wick_105 0 Posted January 13, 2004 sorry guys I'm only going to be making Light/Towed guns....due to the fact that I'm in the artillery and fire a towed howitzer I think there the best....and if your in an OLD M109a4 here during the winter you can kiss your ass goodbye
munger 25 Posted January 13, 2004 ecspeacialy with nuclear shells  which fire shorter than the blast range of the nuke LOL Who came up with that bright idea?
sniperuk02 0 Posted January 13, 2004 the same guy who made the moter launched nuke shells that land 4 miles nuke blast radius 5 miles but i think towed artilary is needed badly
dinger 1 Posted January 13, 2004 The config.cpp stuff I can probably help you sort. The modelling config stuff you'll need someone else. There are plenty of eager folks here. You know the drill, start small, etc. A properly towed howitzer that you could unlimber, set up, and have a crew working would rock. Doing those animations would probably suck though. Wick_105 0 Posted January 14, 2004 I got a question for ya, artillery mod: good idea or bad idea? just thought about it when I was out with some of my army buds. and thanks for all the pics guys...I think I now have a good lot that will make the guns look good. ag_smith 0 Posted January 14, 2004 the same guy who made the moter launched nuke shells that land 4 miles nuke blast radius 5 miles  I remember reading somewhere that Russians considered the possibillity of making (belive it or not!) nuclear granade! Back on topic: Are there any tutorials about making COC UA-compatibile addons? I think about converitng Hawk's 2S19.
Apollo 0 Posted January 14, 2004 Quote[/b] ]the same guy who made the moter launched nuke shells that land 4 miles nuke blast radius 5 miles But then i guess these vehicle's have NBC protection....?
sniperuk02 0 Posted January 14, 2004 i mean motor as in the tube ... use of engagement:fire motor shell jump into trench behind you run for the bunker if you have one hope you luck with the mod
dinger 1 Posted January 14, 2004 artillery mod = always a good idea. Or are you talking a full-on deal? Â With supply trucks, FISTs, full gun crews, FDC, Met guys, individual guns controlled via azimuth, elevation, charge, shell and fuze? You know, something that takes at least a dozen people in a coop mission to operate. That'd be cool -- dunno how much use it'd be AGS -- no there's not a UA addonmaking tutorial yet. This is partly because we're adding more stuff for 1.1. But we have set up a private forum over at the CoC for addonmakers and I'm working on showing how it's done. And if you want to adapt someone else's addon, good; but as always, make sure you get the authorization of everyone who contributed to the model and texture. reedkiller 0 Posted January 14, 2004 I can't find a link, but in the 1970s the americans developed a "anti-personel" mobile nuclear grenade launcher anyway back to topic.......
Imshi-Yallah 0 Posted January 15, 2004 A logical first step would be for someone to ake the DKM M46 and 2s19 by Hawk UA compatible, that would give the community a functioning SPG and towed gun for the east.
denoir 0 Posted January 15, 2004 The DKM M46 has already been converted to UA and will probably be released with UA 1.1.
m21man 0 Posted January 15, 2004 Quote[/b] ]The DKM M46 has already been converted to UA and will probably be released with UA 1.1. So now we have something to shoot back at us .
ag_smith 0 Posted January 16, 2004 The DKM M46 has already been converted to UA and will probably be released with UA 1.1. Haven't you guys thought about converting Hawk's 2S19 too, and relasing it with UA 1.1? This one would offer logical counterpart for your (DKM's) M109A6 and make it kind of 'standard' OFP addon that everybody has. Ps.I've heard that Hawk is on holiday (or somewhere away from Internet) so it's impossible to get ahold of him for a time being. So if you consider this and try to contact him, just be patient, he'll be back (that's at least what I've heard). Quote[/b] ]but as always, make sure you get the authorization of everyone who contributed to the model and texture. Don't worry mate, being addon maker myself, I wouldn't forget about something that obvious.
pzvg 0 Posted January 16, 2004 The 8 in SP Howitzer <currently the only nuclear capable artillery in the US Army> is open topped, which makes it, ermm, "undesirable" to remain on the gun while firing, think they now use a timer released trigger activated through the TACFIRE computer. As for the #1 winner in the "well it seemed like a good idea at the time" The Davy Crockett manportable nuclear delivery system never really had a chance of becoming a real weapon, The Airforce and Navy didn't like the Army getting anymore nuclear systems, the Army would rather have had a new main battle tank <the ill-fated MBT70> and the troops absolutely HATED the idea. Wonder why?
Wick_105 0 Posted January 21, 2004 would you guys like gun tractors(aka: trucks) to go with the guns ie: with scripts for towing the guns would have set vehicles, C3=MLVW, D30=MTLB and so on? mabe command posts.....and someone to make them

First we need to find an <s>unsuspecting victim</s> willing modeller!!
SWIFT88 0 Posted January 21, 2004 well i had a fv432 for any british guns...... but its strictly not allowed to be released cause its under OPGWC
Ironsight 1 Posted January 22, 2004 Suprised nobody mentioned the heavy howitzer M198 Would be nice if you could make it moveable by the BAS MH-
m21man 0 Posted January 22, 2004 We already have heavy artillery, what we need are smaller, older guns that can be used by the Resistance.
