If you ever have the chance to visit NZ do it. My 2 month there weren't really enough but I'll be going back someday

Anyway. some random pics I took there. I never got around to make them smaller so all you get is thumbs to click on to see the huge version smile_o.gif Not as good as killagees but I blame my camera and my inexperience smile_o.gif

Done monitors for them a few times, but I've never 'toured' with them as such... Must be a typo on the site. Really need to update that thing at some stage...

Here are a few photos from yesterday, Bondi Beach Sydney in Australia and the Blackseeds gig at the Metro

I highly reccomend visiting NZ as well... the south island is utterly stunning - so much to take in and visit, my 2 weeks wasn't enough by far...

kilagee... I'd have loved to seen some more pics playing with the sand ripples... seems such an interesting feature of that photo to me

Again a couple of night pics:

A randomn street, I think the placement of the "hour glass mouse cursor" tag is excellent, although it's a bit hard to make out on my photo

A type of golden orb-weaving spider. Not sure of the exact type though.

Looking at google, it looks most like Nephila plumipes out of the species that live in Aus.

Modified Cessna that has had a Turbo Prop engine installed to help it climb faster. It is primarily used for bombing sorties using morons as ammunition (AKA Paradrops).

Fail.

(probably worse than "losing" a knife down the back of your couch like that tounge2.gif )

Killagee, do you use a tripod when taking those pics?

I have real trouble taking pictures when it's dark. I either use to high a shutter speed and capture nothing, or i use a slower shutter speed and i get blur, unless i use a tripod - which can be dificult in busy areas! sad_o.gif

Nice shots! smile_o.gif

Yeah its tricky in low light... I dont use a tripod for these, Its just not practicle at a gig, especially when I am supposed to be mixing at the same time...

The trick is to set your camera to spot metering, and aperture priority using the largest aperture your lens will allow. Then reduce about -1ev exposure compensation. That way you focus on the brightest part of your subject (usually the face or chest) and your camera will expose for this area, and the -1 or -2 ev will help reduce shutter speed. Then take about 5 shots really quickly or on burst mode, chances are one of them will be correctly exposed. I have taken all the recent ones with an 18-200mm VR lens. Its cool, but I really need a 70-200 f2.8 VR for this kind of thing really... Anyway, thanks for your encouragement smile_o.gif
