Okay pictures Ralph, Too bad they had such a messy static display line, I am more for the fenced off kind photographically. Now you cant even take picture showing the entire plane without mom and pop in the frame.

I like the first one biggrin_o.gif

First glance, scrolling up though the pictures it didn't seem that impressive, then I scrolled up a bit to show the top/other plane tounge2.gif

What sort of lens is that with? Just a standard-ish one, or proper telephoto one?

Cheers. As I said, wasn't meant to be fancy, as I was just a practice day. I wanted to get some more experience for when it really counts (airshows etc). I'm still fairly new to dSLR photography, I only recently switched to a proper camera.

The lens I used was a Sigma APO 70-300 Macro DG. Excellent value for the money. I picked up mine for € 215,-. (comes with hood + bag). The non-APO lens is about € 145,- as far as I remember.

Same lens I used for the wristwatch pic by the way. The Macro switch allows you to focus on subjects from ~95cm (200-300mm range), rather than the ~1.5m on normal mode.

Hey guys,

I recall a conversation once in this thread regarding in-camera effects editing vs. external processing/editing.

Found this the other day. It's a discussion of JPG vs. RAW shooting. Makes for an interesting read and he does bring up some good points.

Enjoy.

Blackdog~ and HOBOMAN, both really nice pictures biggrin_o.gif

A quick question to anyone who knows anyhting about the lensbaby lesnes.. Is there any big differences between the original, and the new one? Looking at the site, the only difference I can see is that the V2 has F2 (as oposed to F2.6, which isn't worth the almost double in price IMO)

First off, the 2.0 has a faster way of changing aperatures. Just drop a little disc inside the lens and it hangs there until you pull it out and put a new one in.

Second, the 2.0 has two glass elements, both are optically coated. On the original there's only one uncoated piece of glass. Resulting in some cool CA and other effects which you don't get with the 2.0. On the other hand, using the 8.0 aperature on the 2.0 I get a focuspoint that is almost as sharp as my 50mm prime, which speaks for the quality of the glass.

Enough rambling, I say go for the original Lensbaby. It'll get you more blur for your money. And if you have enough money for the 2.0, get the original with the wideangle converter :P

Skater, shot this friday with the Lensbaby 2.0 @ f/5.6

Another skater, also shot this friday with the 2.0 @ f/5.6

EDIT: Kickass shot HOBOMAN! biggrin_o.gif

the end tags should read [\img] and [\url] (reverse the \ though) but unfortunatly these forums dont seem to like very long strings of text in a signature, so its likely it wont work unless your image link is alot shorter

Some pictures I took of 'urban life' in Brussels. Sorry for the poor quality, I had to scan them and nobody likes jpeg compression confused_o.gifwhistle.gif

All taken with my Canon EOS 3000V with standard 28-90mm lens and processed by me.

Don't appologize for the "Poor quality", say their supposed to be like that tounge2.gif

They look really good, if they were perfectly sharp, I don't think they would have been as good smile_o.gif
