killagee 0 Posted July 16, 2006 Hey all. I havent posted here for ages... Been away on tour with another few bands (The Feelers, Elemenop, Atlas, Goodnight Nurse) around NZ for a while. I had a enough time off to take some cool photos though... Its not very rock and roll getting up at 5am to go on a photomission, but they all know I'm a nerd... Thats why they hire me... Anyway, here goes a whole bunch. P.S. The Sigma 10-20mm WideAngle lens is wicked eh!

Shashman 0 Posted July 17, 2006 128Mb Compact Flash card (very basic, but good for starters) I reaaally suggest you get atleast a 512mb card, I got mine over a year ago for < Å40ish, now you can get 1GB cards for very little.. One thing I discovered, some cards don't like certain cameras (One of my cards sometimes curroupts images, which is very annoying, so I tend to use it only if I have to) I need to get another card or two at some point, but for now, two 512MB cards work (Or if I'm going to be taking a lot, I'll try and have my laptop, card reader and Microsoft's SyncToy setup, then clear the cards when they're full) - Ben 2 x 1GB SanDisk Ultra II Compact Flash cards and a Sigma 70-300 APO arrived in the post this very morning And yeah, my laptop is a godsend too, since its essentially an 90 Gb mobile hard disc and image editing tool. Should proove very handy once I start getting out to photograph (only other thing I need is a tripod, which I will be getting on wednesday ) Just wish the laptop had a built in CF reader, having the external USB one is rather clumsy My external card reader is handy as f*ck! It accepts 19 different types of cards, turns my laptop into a decent image editing hard disk and is about the size of a fat credit card My laptop actually has a built in card reader, but knowing my luck, it doesn't accept CF Speaking of memory cards: They're worth the price. Don't go for the cheap ones. Stick to SanDisk, and if you're a serious photographer, then stick to anything above Ultra II. The 300D isn't even made anymore, and actually, for the price you paid for yours, I got my 350D with a Sigma 28-300, 256 CF, Battery grip, 3 spare batteries, tripod, carry bag, card reader and all the various shipped bits n bobs
