the_shadow 0 Posted May 22, 2004 I thought rednecks were an American phenomenon.    nope, it´s a swedish thing, the US did just copy our thing ;) anyway, there where actually fins, danes and germans there too (the silvery thing is finnish, the yellow is danish and the red with 4 chopper turbines are german) i tell ya, the sound of 4 chopper turbines @25000rpm with an output of 6000hp are tremendous... but nothing beats the sound of 4 bigblock chevy V8´s

Tex -USMC- 0 Posted May 23, 2004 Here are some shots I took of our trebuchet a few weeks ago at a milk jug throwing competition. Our fearless hero, in all his blurry glory, charging into the fray. Our trebuchet. The color scheme was not my call. The condemned. Part of the team, setting up. It says 'Fleminator', for those of you who can't read our embarassingly bad shadowbox writing. Our trebuchet's namesake, the inimitable Mr. Fleming. Gratuitous phallic symbolism. Part of the team. Ready to go. Yours truly on top of the trebuchet, getting the lines straightened out. Due to the wind, this process was repeated every shot, and to make things easier on me I just rode the fiberglass arm down as they pulled it. Fun. Me again. The chains, man, the chains! The team again, before we pack it up for the day. The aftermath. The Fleminator, all packed up. This is what happens when you have an extra exposure on the film. And, because you've made it this far, here's my dog, Max.

Tex -USMC- 0 Posted May 23, 2004 Possibly, and I can't say I blame him, but the better explanation is that it's a combination of another person trying to get them to focus in another direction for a different picture, coupled with my shitty photography skills. denoir 0 Posted May 25, 2004 Took these a few minutes ago. Some wild ducks decided to camp below my window which is a first. I live pretty central in Stockholm so I'm not exactly used to having wild beasts such as these roaming my neighborhood. There's a lake pretty close, so I suppose that's where they came from - but still - it's like 100-200 m away.. Anyway I had some fun feeding them bits of bread, which they seemed to appreciate. GoOB 0 Posted May 25, 2004 Too bad the sun isn't shining on those ducks, god... I hate the weather in Stockholm right now. A small shot from Venice: (Click for larger) Nice pictures everyone, I really do love this thread

Tovarish 0 Posted May 25, 2004 Recently we had our anual Ascension Day trip... Hey, I went camping this weekend too! Â Our campsite: It rained every night and most of the two days we spent there, but we had fun just finding ways to stay dry, and being up all night barbequeing and drinking - hell we feasted like kings. Fire pit being used to dry wet clothing: Fire at night: Stuff to drink: Moth trap: Short video when the tarp we set up over the table was so full of water it looked like it might collapse (1.6mb): May 24 Weekend
Albert Schweitzer 10 Posted May 25, 2004 Feeding bread to birds can kill them. Feed waterfoul lettuce or other leafy greens instead. Â Not necessarily. In the winter yes. And also because bread grows bigger when it comes into contact with water. But ducks have stomach that is used to that and they can eat everything, even during the winter. iNeo 0 Posted May 25, 2004 What's crazy is to dip the bread in alcohol and then throw it to the ducks. And watch them get drunk and finally drop. I'd never do that but a class mate did.
