Sharia 0 Posted November 27, 2003 Hi, I have been making a simple mission on the Trinity Island to promote the BAS Deltas and Laser's naval infantry. It's not gigantic, and it lags quite heavily. I was even playing the "marines" mission which is bundled with the Russian naval infantry mission and had no lag. I think the problem is that there is possibly too much activity. The base you start off near has a URAL truck drive out of it and head off (only two waypoints) and there's a squad of 5 naval infantry troops patrolling in the base. (A triangular arrangement with two move waypoints and a cycle waypoint.) Down away from the base is your objective. A Shilka. The Shilka's crew are relaxing outside it, but will jump in whenever anyone is killed. (A very large string of; NOT (alive man1) OR NOT (alive man2) AND etc. Is this what is lagging it? It is pretty large. (There are about 20 troops, 6 crew and two vehicles including the Shilka. When either of the vehicles are destroyed/disabled it will trigger the crews also.) Other notes: There is an MI24 hind that flies over the enemy base around the time you reach the village that you snipe the first base from and flies down by the waterside and flies away. There is also a BMP and a T80 that drives across the bridge and heads to the town Koul. (Another objective.) I had the soldiers in the town Koul with waypoints too. But Now I've set it up so they only start walking around when you get within range.) Now, to be honest, I have no idea why it's lagging quite so badly. Anyone else want to assist? Edit: fixed something in the post.

Harkonin 0 Posted November 28, 2003 First off I'd check how many units you have on the map and reduce them if excessive. You don't always need 64 groups of 12 running around. 2nd if your AI don't do anything til a certain time make sure they're not moving, sync their waypoint with something to trigger movement. 3rd check any scripts you have running loops. If this all looks good try a spawn script for your enemy troops. And if you added a ton of objects for useless eyecandy and a ton of unneeded empty vehicles remove them. Johan_D 0 Posted November 29, 2003 Maybe you change the NOTALIVE with a sidecount? makes it easier in one commandline.. Johan
