killagee 0 Posted November 16, 2003 I am spewing! My HD was faulty so I got a free replacement and an extra 512 DDRAM for free. Then I did a clean install of all my hardware and applications. I have installed Resistance and patched to 1.94b. I have no addons installed as yet (but I spent two days downloading them! hehe they are ready to go) Now, whenever I start OFP, It is fine for about half a second then I get the Green screen thing, where the sky goes green, and the text turns into a jumbled mess... I have tried the -nomap command but it is still all bad. Any ideas? System info: AMD 2500 1 gig RAM 128mb Winfast A280 le TDH Video Card (Nvidia geforce Ti4200 AGP x 8) Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Help! I didnt spend all these days fixing my computer for this to happen. And yes, I have searched thru the troubleshooting section and Avon's FAQ... Edit: Now computer freezes when i try to start OFP... Gets to green screen then stops... Arghhh!! I have been on tour for 3 weeks and the whole time I was hanging out to come home and play OFP and I cant! I wonder what noise it would make as it hits the concrete outside my window...

blackdog~ 0 Posted November 17, 2003 install up to 1.94 and run resistance with -nomap
B-2-0 0 Posted November 17, 2003 I would try turning your settings right down in OFP Preferences too...if it works, turn em back up gradually till u find the optimum setting.
killagee 0 Posted November 17, 2003 Ok. Seems to work with 1.94 and nomap. Heres hoping...!
ozanzac 0 Posted November 17, 2003 Lets hope so. 1.94 helped a freind with a similar problem. His case was slightly different. He had land and sky but no objects on the intro screen.
killagee 0 Posted November 17, 2003 Ah Stink! The first time I ran the game it was fine. Then I restarted my computer, came back and now I have the same problem!! Arghh!! Green Sky, No Menu, game wont close! This is ridiculous Yes I am using 1.94 with the nomap command I havent even put any addons on yet... Edit: Just installed America's Army. mr burns 132 Posted November 17, 2003 erm...you have not mentioned which detonator u are using ? have you installed one yet ? i´m no more nvida user so i don´t know anything bout their driver realted problems but i would suggest you to try one of those 45.xx det´s...they worked fine by the time when i had my GF4 MX. godd luck
killagee 0 Posted November 17, 2003 No I have never used detonator before. i will give it a try... Thanx Is it a stand alone driver? Do I need to uninstall my old drivers?
bonko the sane 2 Posted November 17, 2003 latest WHQL Nvidia driver is 52.16 here , if u are unistalling drivers,be sure to remove the registry of the deleted driver before reinstaling a new driver
killagee 0 Posted November 18, 2003 Downloaded and installed new detonator drivers. Same problem put different green bits. Games works, but there are massive green and white lines appearing randomly all over the place! Gonna buy a new video card now! Recomendations?
mr burns 132 Posted November 18, 2003 Be aware that all newer ATI Rad´s seem to have no w-buffer which causes flickering Textures in OFP See here iirc Bonko said that Nvidia FX card´s are affected by this problem too... a GF4 Ti card would be the best for playing OFP imo it´s really a hard choice....go with newest DX 9 features or just play OFP in peace ... erm...you say you only play ofp ?? then i´d suggest you to buy the biggest GF4 Ti you can get for cheap money
