The Frenchman 0 Posted October 25, 2003 Today I was bored so I dePBOed the Resistance campaign and watched all the movie missions. While watching "Ace in the Hole" I noticed something odd: It says that Guba was given an order. Does this mean that Guba is not as evil? That we will meet someone worse in OFP2? May the theroies fly! Wilco 944 Posted October 25, 2003 Theory is, Guba makes decisions based on his orders that he gets. After reading the statement above, I see that it makes no sense.....
Crazysheep 1 Posted October 25, 2003 Guba wasn't a renegade in Resistance. He was under orders from Moscow.

Guba killed unarmed civilians. Just because that's how he interpreted his orders is no excuse for what he "did" IMO... Â

-TU--33ker 0 Posted October 25, 2003 I wasn't referring to his methods. The attack on Nogova was ordered, because the Nogova comunist party wanted their power back with help of the Soviets and asked Moscow for military help. The attack on Everon was a different thing because Guba acted on his own.

edc 0 Posted October 25, 2003 What exactly happened w/ Victor's girl? I didn't really play that much of the campaign(like to mess around in editor).
-TU--33ker 0 Posted October 25, 2003 lol don't you see it already in the first cutscene? or does she come into play in the other cutscene about guba's ambush?
Milkman 1 Posted October 25, 2003 I didn't get Guba's ambush, when he blows up the charges, it takes like 40 of his own soldiers out with the blast. Is he retarded? Or where they expendible?
-TU--33ker 0 Posted October 25, 2003 It's just his character. He kills civilians, executes traitors who help him, shoots his best officers if they don't do what he wants, doesn't care about his own conscripts becase they're disposable...
Crazysheep 1 Posted October 25, 2003 It's just to show how dang evil those commies are!:P Seriously, in the next OFP I would like to see less of a 2 dimensional good guy/bad guy arrangement. I mean, Guba was a little ott in some places.....I'm sure that even the worst soviet general wouldn't just kill everybody on an island out of spite.

Whatever he is, good or bad, he would be alot more fun to kill if his model had blood textures!!

I tried to make a screenshot where you can see him dead, but there was no blood and you can't place some bloodsplats on the second floor of a building! And his evil character is really overdone... I don't think the soviet leadership could let him become a general with such a sick mind. He would be too dangerous even for themselves.
