Lock on: modern air combat

Recommended Posts

Yeah, that's the only up side to the delays...I just paid my next semester's tuition and the other day I got replacement lenses for my glasses, and I have no clue If I'll be getting a student loan this coming year. So I have to do some more saving up before I can be sure to afford a mobo and CPU that can handle this baby, and FB on decent landscape settings.

I hear you. I wish someone had told me how expensive this adult thing was going to be- I would've gotten myself born into a richer family... maybe the Bushes. And then I could be President and have a decent computer for LOMAC.

Nice video, but what's up with the two Tomcats not firing a single missile, and then proceeding to get into a knife fight with a Flanker? Not especially smart lol.

Damnit, that is me you shot down in your sig isnt it  sad_o.gif

LMAO no, it was from an online game, but I wouldn't do that to people I know on a forum they frequent  wink_o.gif . If the guy looks like an easy target it's because he had no idea I was there til I unloaded on him with 20mm's at point blank (caught him zooming up from a dive bombing attack)

Well, we don't know what the situation was, but it's hard to tell. At the range they started at and the way the flanker was using the helmet sight and R-73's, the one that survived the first shot didn't have much opportunity to extend.

Yep, there's a couple of inaccuracies that show he was using an Alpha version...the MiG-29A does not have an internal jammer and holds 150 cannon rounds instead of 100 like Ian mentions...but both would be accurate for the Mig-29S (Listed as MiG-29C since NATO dosen't diferentiate between  it and the standard C version). But to be sure, the screenshots show him flying a MiG-29A.

What was the sexy Russian voice saying?(here in the US aka Bitchen betty in US planes ;) )I'm guessing "Maximum angle of attack"?

Can't hear the first word she says, but the second is "turn"...so yes, she's definitely trying to tell him he's turning too hard.

Hope they have translations or text like OFP. Nothing worse than trying to manuever when a voice screams at you in Russian, having now clue as to what is going on.

Yeah, I also hope they don't make the all cockpit markings in Cyrillic, or atleast have an option.

I would bet all radio communications would be subtitled, but the planes will be authentic. So a Russian plane will speak to you in Russian and the cockpit markings will all be in Russian. Nagging Nadya will have a pretty limited vocabulary anyway so it's not hard to learn, and people manage with authentic Cyrillic and German cockpits in Forgotten Battles just fine.

With any luck the PDF manual will have an overlay of all the important stuff, so that we can at least figure out what the hell's going on. Jeez, between this and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. it looks like I'm going to have to take a Russian language course lol.

The original Flanker games had Cyrillic cockpits and I didn't have any problems.Once you learn what each instrument does and where it is off by heart then all you need to do is be able to see where the needle is smile_o.gif
