I guess when I get the trackIR I'm going to feel dizzy if I'm going to fly the instruments in the A-10 Look down, look left, a little to the right, then left again, then up and all over again in a continous motion Nice mini-nukes btw The MK84s make nice flame-balls too

iNeo 0 Posted December 10, 2003 YIIIIKES  You fly at night  I guess I have to learn some time  Do you have nv or do you fly the instruments? I don't know if it's just that I have my brightness up high on my monitor or what, but I don't have any problems seeing at night in Lomac As long as you see where the ground is, and what's up and what's down, you'll be fine Monitor settings: Contrast 90%, Light 66%. I guess when I get the trackIR I'm going to feel dizzy if I'm going to fly the instruments in the A-10 Look down, look left, a little to the right, then left again, then up and all over again in a continous motion What's trackIR? I'm not even using a joystick, cause my old MS Sidewinder Force Feedback is burried somewhere in the basement
acidcrash 0 Posted December 10, 2003 nope, no nightvision... just good old mark one eyeball still, can lead to some cool screenshots edit: that will teach me not to refresh, ineo already answered

Baron von Beer 0 Posted December 11, 2003 $500-600!?!? Is that the price in Antactica? When they first came out, for all metal design (heard they were gonna switch to plastics, but never heard if they actually did) they were ~$250. Did they switch to Titanium alloy with Platinum molding for such a price?
Tovarish 0 Posted December 11, 2003 Since I can't get this game before I get a new comp and that's not very likely to happen soon, I've been playing Falcon 4.0 Sp3, flying the MiG-29A. Took some time, but I'm finally discovering sucessful tactics to negate the advantage that F-16's and F-15's have over me in that sim with the Aim-120 (The R-27 is a dud off the rails, my only hope is to get close enough to use the R-73....makes for a challenge getting past the BVR kilzone, but very rewarding to manage it and once I'm in close I have the edge and sometimes it makes for some awesome knife fights ...anyways, the reason I'm posting this here is I hear there was a MiG-29 cockpit mod (so I don't have to fly a Fulcrum with a Falcon cockpit), but every time I think I found it I just get a dead link, so I was wondering if there is a Falconite out there that can point me in the right direction? . Baron von Beer 0 Posted December 11, 2003 http://www.cockpits.net/index2.html At that site, click on the cockpits arrow. Next screen, freeware cockpits. 3rd set down includes F/A-18C, F-4E, A-10, MiG-29A, SU-27, C-130. There are some others there as well. (Looks like some are only made for certain resolutions. Don't recall if they work properly at other res.

shadow 6 Posted December 11, 2003 Would never buy that.. Can't believe people are buying the HOTAS Cougar joystick either, 500-600$ Â I paid ~240$ for my Cougar. It simply is the best there is. Sure, it has a few weknesses here and there, but they are all easily fixed. And you can put alot of functions into it. I've used 10% of the coug's memory, but I'm out of buttons Programmed around 90 or so functions into it. Only buttons I use during a mission that I have'nt mapped is eject, engine1/2 on/off and the communication. Everything else I use is on the stick and throttle. As for the trackir, I think there are people on this board that has played OFP with both TrackIR and 3D-glasses and say they will never look back. The TrackIR will seriously ease the way to look around the cockpit. Since I only fly the A-10 I think that thing should be very helpful (lots of analogue guages and dials). iNeo 0 Posted December 11, 2003 1. Missile away over the cloud cover 2. Stormy landing 3. Mission accomplished Enemy tanker down A number of enemy escort planes down Two enemy F16's desserted
shadow 6 Posted December 11, 2003 Do you have to tease me with those lovely night ops? Going to try that after mid-air refuling. Did'nt get to try it out the other day. Thought I should fix the speedbrake on the coug before trying it as I thought it will be used extensively (Cougar speedbrake-switch is misaligned on all Cougs and will eventually brake if you don't open it up and twist it into position, which I still had'nt done). Now that I've aligned the switch my speedbrake buttons are smoother than ever and I'm ready to hit the trials tomorrow
iNeo 0 Posted December 11, 2003 How's your mid-air refueling going? I tried it the other day but I approached way too fast all the time, too impatient I guess Got some pictures from that, will post them tomorrow morning. After several failed attempts to come close enough to the rear of the tanker, I just played with it in the sky, rolling over it etc
JAP 2 Posted December 11, 2003 Been editing a bit tonight. Mission Disrupt the AA defenses around an airfield before the B1B strike arrives. Plane : A10 ( You and wingman ) Situation : A well defended airfield is getting a major strike tonight, longrange bombers are on their way to strike the airfield. The airfield is guarded by alot of AA since this airfield is only been captured by the enemy for a week and it s their closest airfield to the frontline. There are not alot of fighters yet in the region but the airfield is well guarded by SAMS. A flight of 2 F16-c 's is flying spearhead to destroy the early warning and missle guidance units before you arrive to cleanup the remaining SAMs. Meanwhile the flight of 3 B1B's with an escort of 2 F15's will make their way to the airfield, make sure it s cleaned up and "safe" before they arrive. Some early pics ( quality is a bit screwed up ) No i m not yet showing any target pics ( that s classified info ) Cheers
shadow 6 Posted December 12, 2003 http://users.pandora.be/j_a_p....001.jpg How did you get the A-10 to start right outside a shelter? I only see the option of "on runway" and "parking area".
iNeo 0 Posted December 12, 2003 Mission: Destroy enemy ship recently detected in a nearby bay. 1. Bombs missed - approached too fast 2. Bombs hit - next try 3. A rocket strafe to finish it off - some hit 4. Landed - too fast, ended up outside the runway
JAP 2 Posted December 12, 2003 http://users.pandora.be/j_a_p....001.jpg How did you get the A-10 to start right outside a shelter? I only see the option of "on runway" and "parking area". You have to be lucky to select an airfield with bunkerhangars, when you select parking it s possible to start inside the bunker. If it doesnt put you there add a few more flights from that airfield. It s just luck ;)
