Newsweek poll hmmm...

Quote[/b] ]Fifty percent suspect Clarke has some personal or political agenda, while another 25 percent don’t know what to make of his accusations.
Quote[/b] ]By a margin of 61 percent to 34 percent, Americans feel that, overall, the Bush administration has taken the terror threat seriously. The numbers are the reverse for Bush’s predecessor: 65 percent are critical of how seriously they believe the Clinton administration took the threat.
Quote[/b] ]Overall, 17 percent of Americans said that the Clarke testimony has made them feel less favorable towards the president and nearly half (44 percent) of them feel that he should testify in public.

Polls mean nothing.

I wasn't asked. When was the last time you were asked for a national poll?

Polls are s*it.

Is the truth found by staging polls in the US of A ?

Or is it the facts that still count?

Sometimes I´m not that sure anymore.

If you follow polls Iraq had more WMD´s than russia, AQ has had strong relations to Saddam, the war in Iraq was about AQ and Jeremiah the bullfrog can get president.

Polls do nothing to find the truth. They only reflect the effect of White House PR work but have nothing to do with the truth itself.

Surprise, surprise...

Lockerbie bombing investigations 'dropped'

Blair visits Gadaffi -> Shell signs contract with Lybia -> Gadaffi is in no way a terrorist sponsor anymore crazy_o.gif

They claim to fight a war on terror and get some terrorists into their boat to help them fight terrorism.

It´s not only Lybia but also Pakistan. Both well known for their terrorist funding.

Quote[/b] ]FURTHER investigations into the Lockerbie bombing have been quietly shelved despite the breakthrough in diplomatic relations with Libya, Scotland on Sunday can reveal.

Polls can also be skewed to prove a certain belief.  You have to be careful with them.  But its also complicated in that polls do not always reflect the attitudes and beliefs of VOTERS.  Also the way in which the polls are gathered can radically effect the outcome of the polls.

The main thing to look at is who is paying for the polls.

Polling agencies generally like to produce answers that the people who contract them want.

Here more info. from the poll:

Quote[/b] ]Bush’s overall approval rating remain statistically unchanged at 49 percent and in a three-way hypothetical election between Bush, Kerry and independent candidate Ralph Nader, the results were the same as in last week’s NEWSWEEK poll: 45 percent for Bush, 43 percent for Kerry and 5 percent for Nader. If Nader is removed from the picture, the race remains a statistical tie, with 48 percent for Kerry, 47 percent for Bush. With Kerry campaigning in Michigan and Bush promoting tax cuts this week, the race also focused more on the economy—a crucial issue on which more than half (54 percent) of Americans now disapprove of Bush’s performance. Bush is weak overall on domestic issues: 60 percent disapprove of his performance on “jobs and foreign competition†(just 28 percent approve); 58 percent disapprove of his handling of Medicare (up from 50 percent in February); 49 percent disapprove of his tax policies (43 percent approve); and on education 47 percent approve (41 percent disapprove).

9/11 commission not likely to subpoena Rice says panel chairman.

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tm....ssion_6

Quote[/b] ]

WASHINGTON - The independent commission investigating the Sept. 11 attacks will not relent in its pursuit of public testimony from the president's national security adviser but is unlikely to subpoena Condoleezza Rice (news - web sites), the panel's chairman said Sunday.

Quote[/b] ]

But the White House is declining to let her appear at the commission's televised hearings, citing the constitutional principle of separation of powers.

"We will accept any testimony" from Rice, who was "very, very forthcoming in her first meeting with us," said former New Jersey Gov. Thomas Kean, a Republican named by President Bush (news - web sites) to lead the commission.

Quote[/b] ]

"But we do feel unanimously as a commission that she should testify in public. We feel it's important to get her case out there. We recognize there are arguments having to do with separation of powers. We think in a tragedy of this magnitude that those kind of legal arguments are probably overridden," Kean told "Fox News Sunday."

Quote[/b] ]

Kean said commissioners "are still going to press" for her public testimony. Asked about issuing a subpoena in an attempt to compel her appearance, Kean said it is not clear that such a legal step is the best way to get the information sought and whether it would be successful given the doctrine of executive privilege.

"We've only got a certain life on this commission, and to get into a court battle over a subpoena we don't think is really appropriate right now, or will it help us leading to our conclusion, so we can issue a report in July, which is now our mandate," Kean said.

Quote[/b] ]

Asked if Bush should apologize to the Sept. 11 families for the government's failure to prevent the attacks, Rumsfeld said the president has made clear his sorrow

"I think the president has recognized the failure that existed and the concern he has for those people and the fact that the government, our government, was there and that attack took place. I don't know quite what else one would do," the defense secretary said

Quote[/b] ]

Commissioner John Lehman, a Republican, said Rice "has nothing to hide, and yet this is creating the impression for honest Americans all over the country and people all over the world that the White House has something to hide, that Condi Rice has something to hide.

"And if they do, we sure haven't found it. There are no smoking guns. That's what makes this so absurd. It's a political blunder of the first order," Lehman told ABC's "This Week

Quote[/b] ]POLICE SEIZE EXPLOSIVES

More than half a tonne of ammonium nitrate fertiliser - a key bomb-making ingredient - has been recovered during a series of terror raids across England.

Police said the bomb-making material was seized from an industrial storage unit in Hanwell, west London.

Eight suspects were arrested in the dawn raids, which involved more than 700 police officers and 24 addresses around the country.

The searches occurred in Uxbridge, Ilford and Colindale, London; Crawley, West Sussex; Horley, Surrey; Slough and Reading, Berkshire; and Luton, Bedfordshire.

The material recovered is the same type which was used in the Bali bombings in October 2002 which killed 202 people, and last year's attacks in Turkey which killed 160.

The main explosion in Bali involved 50-100kgs of ammonium nitrate - around one fifth of the amount recovered in London today.

Two men were arrested in Uxbridge, one each in Ilford, Hanwell and Slough and three in Crawley during today's raids.

All the suspects are believed to be Muslims and British citizens of Pakistani descent. They are aged 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 21, 22 and 32.

They were arrested under anti-terrorism legislation on suspicion of being involved in terrorist acts.

Scotland Yard deputy assistant commissioner Peter Clarke , the National Co-ordinator for Terrorism, said the suspects were not linked to Irish Republican terrorism or to the recent attack in Madrid.

He said: "I must stress the threat from terrorism is very real and the public must remain watchful and alert."

Sky correspondent Martin Brunt said police had not planned to launch the raids today.

"The raids were some weeks away, but something made police move quickly," Brunt said.

"I understand it was the bomb-making equipment.

"It was material that police were fairly sure was going to be constructed into a bomb," he said.

It´s not explosives. It´s ingredient for making bombs.

There is an agricultural store near the village I live.

I guess they have up to 30 tons of the ingredient there.

I'm sure I could buy some too, but how many people need a half ton of fertilizer? I suppose a farmer uses much more, but why would he keep fertilizer in a storage unit in London?

yeah fertilizer or weedkiller and suger the terrorists favorite easy to make explosive but now alot of off the shelf weedkillers and fertilizers come with stuff in it to stop it for going bang so easyly. i heard in america you have to have a special liecense to be able to buy certain kind to fertilzers and stuff like that so its harder for terrorists to get there hands on

I think Balschoiw is jsut saying that this really is not explosives, it is an ingredient. That is his point. So you can not call the people terrorists on that point alone, I am sure however they have other information such as plans and phone conversations.

Anyway, this is it, this is how you stop terror attacks, this is what Bush should have been pushing prior to 11/9. Close observation of suspects. As you can see 2+2 is coming together for those who said: so why was there no attack in UK when Spain was attacked, this is why.

Exactly.

This can be a significant thing when it comes to a court session.

It is not prohibited to buy and store fertilizers.

It is prohibited to make bombs of it.

so why was there no attack in UK when Spain was attacked,  this is why.

So is this:

Quote[/b] ]Police let Madrid bombers go

MADRID - Spanish police came within a whisker of foiling the Madrid bombings when they stopped a stolen car carrying explosives used in the attacks.

The boot of the Volkswagen was packed with 100kg of stolen industrial dynamite, according to an El Pais newspaper report.

Three of the four train-bombing suspects were thought to have been in the car at the time, but its Arab driver was fined for a minor traffic offence and allowed to drive on.

The Telegraph, quoting the Spanish newspaper report, said two patrolmen who stopped the car north of Madrid failed to realise that the driver was not the registered owner. The owner of the car had not yet reported it missing.

It has now been found, along with traces of the dynamite used in the March 11 train bombings that killed 202 people.

Dr. Rice is finally going to do it.

White House to Let Rice Testify in Public:

Quote[/b] ]

WASHINGTON - National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice (news - web sites) will be allowed to testify in public under oath before the commission investigating the failure to prevent the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, an administration official said Tuesday.

The official said the decision is conditioned on the Bush administration receiving assurances in writing from the commission that such a step does not set a precedent, said the official speaking on condition of anonymity. It appeared the administration already had such assurances verbally in private and is confident it will get them in writing.

Hi all

***BREAKING NEWS***

In an Embarising Climbdown

Quote[/b] ]The White House offered to have national security adviser Condoleezza Rice testify publicly under oath about the Sept. 11 attacks before the 9-11 commission

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A35674-2004Mar30.html

The threat of apear before the 9/11 volutarily or be subpeoned was growing so big that The White House had no other option.

Also to apear George Bush Jnr. but only with Dodgy Dick Cheyney Holding his hand and still in private the pressure on George Bush Jnr. to also take the public stand and give sworn testimony is growing.

The 60 minutes apearence by Condoleezza Rice and other public statements by other TBA and Republican officials that questioned sworn testimony to the 9/11 commision clearly backfired. The 9/11 Commitee and the Families of 9/11 victims were not about to have the 9/11 Commision or its findings denegrated in that way.

The pressure is also increasing for Condoleezza Rice and other key members of TBA to apologise for the failure of US intelligence sytems linked to TBA to pick up and deal with the Al Qaida threat before the 9/11 attacks.

Quote[/b] ]Philippines Says Foils Planned Terror Attack

Tue Mar 30,12:16 AM ET

MANILA (Reuters) - Philippine security forces have arrested several militants and seized a large amount of explosives, foiling a plan to bomb civilian targets in the capital Manila, President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo said on Tuesday. "We have pre-empted a Madrid-level attack on the metropolis by capturing an explosive cache of 80 pounds (36 kg) of TNT which was intended to be used for bombing malls and trains in Metro Manila," she said on national television.

Similar thing happened with a 11/9 suspect. This is exactly what I'm saying, if you alert everyone as to high risk suspects (like local Police) then you have a better chance. It's complicated, but the kind of Intel used in the UK and in Ottawa (Canada) lately is what thwarts these attacks. And the way Bush reacted to threats prior to 11/9 is exactly what lead to so many suspects not being tracked or caught. Maybe Bush just needed a bit of ammunition to play out his game, but did not realize just what would actually occur on 11/9.

Of course Bush does not lie "had we been aware that there would be an attack on the WTC on 11/9 we would have stopped it". No they did not know it was going to be on WTC for sure, or that it would be 11/9. It's a standard way of what I call lying, poeple in the Intel business call selective statements and memory.

How did it backfire? Dr. Rice wanted testify in public. The recent Newseek poll (some of you do not like) stated that 50 percent believed that Clarke has some personal or political agenda. Also, a student of his at Harvard stated that Clarke he not a fan of Bush.

Quote[/b] ]Also to apear George Bush Jnr. but only with Dodgy Dick Cheyney Holding his hand and still in private the pressure on George Bush Jnr. to also take the public stand and give sworn testimony is growing.

Bush and Cheney are going to meet with the whole commission in private (taking baby steps). Former President Clinton and VP Gore are going to meet with the commission in private too.

Quote[/b] ]LOS ANGELES -- Seeking to strike at symbols of U.S. financial strength, al-Qaida targeted the 73-story Library Tower in Los Angeles, as well as the Sears Tower in Chicago, it was reported Wednesday.

"We were looking for symbols of economic might," al-Qaida operations chief Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, captured in Pakistan, reportedly told U.S. interrogators.

The follow-up attacks were thwarted by the U.S. response to the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, according to a report obtained by the Washington Times.

According to the government report, Mohammad "has been known to withhold information or deliberately mislead."

Since 9/11, about $6.5 million has been spent to improve security at the Los Angeles landmark. The tallest building west of the Mississippi River was recently renamed the US Bank Tower.

Matt McLaughlin, the FBI's spokesman in Los Angeles, told the Daily News that agents learned of an "unsubstantiated report" that the tower could be the subject of a terrorist act shortly after 9/11, and immediately responded.

Los Angeles Police Cmdr. Mark Leap said the department learned of the threat described by Mohammed from the FBI, but that the information was classified and the source not disclosed.

Mohammed described elaborate planning efforts to interrogators.

"The original plan was for a two-pronged attack with five targets on the East Coast of America and five on the West Coast," he said, according to the Washington Times transcript. "We talked about hitting California as it was America's richest state, and (Osama) bin Laden had talked about economic targets."

Mohammed told interrogators he remained in Pakistan for 10 days after 9/11, then went to Afghanistan to find bin Laden.

When he was captured in March last year in the home of a microbiologist in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, the 37-year-old was unshaven and wearing a baggy vest.

Hi all

More proof that TBA had its eye off the ball when 9/11 happened.

Quote[/b] ]

Top Focus Before 9/11 Wasn't on Terrorism

Rice Speech Cited Missile Defense

By Robin Wright

Washington Post Staff Writer

Thursday, April 1, 2004; Page A01

On Sept. 11, 2001, national security adviser Condoleezza Rice was scheduled to outline a Bush administration policy that would address "the threats and problems of today and the day after, not the world of yesterday" -- but the focus was largely on missile defense, not terrorism from Islamic radicals.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A40697-2004Mar31.html

More and more US citizens are coming to realise the scale of the failure of TBA in the run up to 9/11. TBA were not listening to the security warnings that came from their terrorism tsar Richard Clarke or the CIA or their alies in europe.

Many are coming to realise the blame lies fair and square on those who were suposed to be on watch.

The people who were on watch on that day were:

The Vietnam War Dodger George Bush Jnr.

Dodgy Dick Cheyney

29 misleading statements Condoleezza Rice (misleading statements are those the same as lies?)

"Hey Sadam can I sell you some weapons and WMD." Donald Rumsfeld "by the way saw your work in Halabjah lets Shake."

and the whole sorry mess that is TBA.

TBA were on watch. 9/11 happened. TBA are to blame.

TBA are Still to blame and US citizens know it

Quote[/b] ]Most Say They Are Less Safe Since 9/11

By Christopher Lee

Washington Post Staff Writer

Thursday, April 1, 2004; Page A03

Fewer than half of all Americans think the country is safer now than it was on Sept. 11, 2001, and more than three-quarters expect the United States to be the target of a major terrorist attack at home or abroad in the next few months, according to a new poll.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A40571-2004Mar31.html

Clearly TBA continue to take their eye off the ball. Iraq was a stupid, senseless waste that helped the Al Qaida franchise to become a world wide brand and TBA as usual have done nothing.
