The "Star Wars Kid"

Quote[/b] ]He’s the latest movie sensation, but his fame has caused him to drop out and seek counselling and now he’s filing lawsuits – no, it’s not the latest celeb casualty, but a 15-year-old Canadian schoolboy by the name of Ghyslain Raza (left).

An Internet video of the lad has now been downloaded over 12 million times. In the two-minute clip, Ghyslain recreates a classic Star Wars scene, fighting imaginary baddies with a pretend light sabre, while making his own sound effects.

Ghyslain made the video for his own private viewing, but four classmates found the tape in a school video camera and promptly posted it on the Internet. Since being posted on jedimaster.net back in November, the clip has been cloned over 70 times by amused boffins and newspapers across the world have dubbed him The Star Wars Kid.

Ghyslain now stars in all sorts of action-adventure movie spoofs including the Lord Of The Onion Ring, Bend It Like Ghyslain and The Ghyslainator. This has spawned a raft of merchandising opportunities, including T-shirts and hats.

Instead of enjoying the limelight though, Ghyslain has reportedly dropped out of classes at his private school and now needs regular psychiatric counselling. As a result he is suing his four classmates for £140,000 for making him a laughing stock.

According to The Globe And Mail newspaper, the lawsuit states that Ghyslain "will be under psychiatric care for an indefinite amount of timeâ€.

"The stigma of mental illness can generate social prejudices having severe consequences" on the young man, including making it more difficult for him to enrol in the school of his choice or get a job, or even forcing him to change his name, the document added.

"Ghyslain had to endure, and still endures today, harassment and derision from his high-school mates and the public at large," it said.

But fans of the teenager are determined to see him star in the next Star Wars movie and have signed a petition urging creator George Lucas to find him a part.

According to the Daily Star, Lucas is prepared to approach the Raza family to see if Ghyslain will accept a role. One said: “He’s already a world star. He’d be a genuine box office draw.â€
