Hehe... I was just in a scientific conference, where a 28-year old scientist from UK was telling me how terrible it was when Hitler's Germany invaded Finland during WWII. Needless to say, I had to educate him about the history of WWII.

I think Iäm worried about the education system in UK. tounge_o.gif

For our foreign friends, the BNP are our resident far right pseudo nazi movement.

Actually, the BNPs economic systems are left wing, however they are classed as far right because they are very authoritarian and their racial beliefs are similar to Hitlers.

If they ever come to power, it will be through cheating. Most of them have criminal records....

We may be getting into semantics here, but I believe your statement to be slightly incorrect.

Whilst the BNP's political and economic aims are left-wing (rebuilding the NHS, improve the benefit system, improve housing situation, etc.), they want to achieve this (ie pay for all this) by using fascist methods - removing all non-whites and non-English from Britain.

The sad thing about this is that there are a lot of people that are voting the BNP out of "protest" against Labour crazy_o.gif I still don't understand that logic. Oh well, funny wee island tounge_o.gifbiggrin_o.gif

Sounds 'national-socialist' to me (yeah, just like the NSDAP)...

Lately it seems like most people here don't think us under 20 can have opinions. So I'm glad you replied in a mature way Bordoy.

You are free to have opinions, but they don't really matter as minimum voting age is generally 18. smile_o.gif

Of course this is not absolute. There are younger persons who can be smarter and more clear sighted than adults. In general however adults have more experience and more interest in politics. And teenagers are notoriously unreliable due to the rapid psychical changes they go through in that age.

It's because people think that New Labours being soft on those dang evil asylum seekers, stealing our jobs, pillaging our towns and raping our women! tounge_o.gif

(Needless to say these views are actually very flawed, and most arguments come from dodgy Daily Mail statistics)

Very true, but how nice is this:

Edit - Just discovered your only 15. That would explain a few things.

Etc.

Not to mention last week.

Free to have opinions maybe, but you don't get a lot of respect with them as under-18 here.

Oh well.

He's older than me, (by 1 month 5 days) but no-one ever comments on my age on some of my more garbled posts; while I strongly disagree with Bordoy, you have to admit it's political bias which is leading to him not being taken seriously.

But hopefully his views will change if he participates in more of the political discussions.

This is what these forums are best for; it's the only place I've seen people change their minds in the Iraq topic.

You fattened "15" to point out that his opinions were dumb because of his age... I'd take that as an insult.

Then why was his age pointed out at least twice.

I'm not saying that someone is right and someone else is wrong, but that behavior is bs.

I agree entirely! I'm sick of elderly people complaning that the youth are ageist, but we can't even enter a supermarket without the security cameras following us, or walk down a street without getting a dirty look, and when some people my age were on the streets protesting the war in Iraq there were comments in my local newspaper like, "Since when are 16 year olds experts in world politics?" I bet I knew a lot more about the situation than that person.....

The trouble is, by the time people are adults, they stop caring about the youth being treated badly and the young aren't taken seriously enough.

Damn, I fecked up with the flag and the bank seat (mixed it up with Frankfurt, but that's not the investment bank there). Still 8/10 with all important things right is fine with me. smile_o.gif

I like those BBC riddles, you always learn something new!
