Wouldn't it be cool to have possibility to 'record' replay of your game or cool actions to show it to other players or maybe grandchildrens? ;)

It would be usefull to analyze mistakes made in the team MP games.

We already know this feature from games like Quake (yeah...), F-22 by DID, several racing games...

It would be also extremally usefull for mission/campaign editors if it would be possible to record cutscenes with 'live' actors instead of stupid AI which usually doesn't want to do what cutscene's director exactly wants and then play it as cutscene using some script command...

I would like to take this idea a step further. I would like the server to record enough state to recreate an MP game from any viewpoint. Now I know that this would probably result in rather a large file, but optimisations are possible here - I only want to store enough information so that the game can be watched again - not PLAYED again. As you suggest, this would be useful for analysing team-tactics (as well as just being plain cool) but my primary motivation is to try and hinder some of the worst cheating excesses that are currently spoiling the game for a lot of us who play MP. If an admin can watch a game after it's been played it means that those who use speed-cheats, aimbots and ammo-trainers can probably be identified and banned.

In any case: IMO the recording wouldn't be any bigger just by recording the positions of everything: it would have to do that anyway to show relative positions.

As in; I see this as being an in-engine playback which would be simply the engine decoding a stream of coordinates.
