cam0flage 0 Posted July 30, 2003 After a long time, I just listened to the Monkey Island I theme, and started thinking about my alltime favourite tracks in different games. I figured out that the Monkey Island I theme has to be the best one, it really catches the feeling of being a pirate in the Caribbean Another one I thought of was the whole soundtrack of a classic C-64 game called The Hobbit (the version with graphics). Obviously, the game is based on the book by J.R.R. Tolkien. OPF has a decent soundtrack, but nothing special, in my opinion ... Edit: Forgot to mention, even if this thread is about favorites, the most annoying soundtrack ever must be in Europa Universalis II. I can't find the trackname, but those who have played the game know the song with those weird women singing ... Jesus, it's just plain atrocious.
ran 0 Posted July 30, 2003 dunno why , but i'd say Nuclear Strike's theme on PS1 .... i like it , that's all
-TU--33ker 0 Posted July 30, 2003 Honestly, the OFP soundtrack is the only one I can remember. ....uum hey! I forgot Vice city! (My favourite track is "2 Minutes To Midnight" by Iron Maiden. ) The whole GTA series has an excellent soundtrack. EDIT And there was this Tony Hawk skater game. I mean the second part. It also had some nice music. Anthrax.

cam0flage 0 Posted July 30, 2003 I think both GTA 3 and Vice City have very good soundtracks. The radiostation system is very nice. A particulary good track is by A Flock of Seagulls, titled "I Ran (So Far Away)". Couldn't get any more 80s ... Everytime I hear this song I feel the sudden urge to snort cocaine and drive around in fast ships on the coast of Miami.
Tovarish 0 Posted July 30, 2003 I Really liked the "Hellmarch" theme from Command and Conquer: Red Alert. And it isn't all music, but the soundtrack for GTA3: Vice City is awesome. The music is great, and the radio talk shows....well, I had to stop the car on a couple of occasions and just listen cause I was laughing .
-TU--33ker 0 Posted July 30, 2003 LOL Total 80ies overkill was "I Wanna Rock" by Twisted Sister. The band
N.o.R.S.u 0 Posted July 30, 2003 Quake 2. Oh and Thief series had IMO best ambient sounds ever.
EBass 0 Posted July 30, 2003 Hey mr Tuseeker u gonna see Maiden on the Dance of Death tour? Im going to Earls court. Anyway the best soundtrack is undoubtably FF7s. Aeiris Theme tune, Cids music, the boss music. It all rocks
Balschoiw 0 Posted July 30, 2003 I especially like all Rob Hubbard songs for C64 games. Especially Monty on the run, Rasputin and such  You can download the music as sid files here: Rob Hubbard´s music for C64 Get the player for Windows here: Sidplay2 Another top man for good computer music is Chris Huelsbeck. He was more or less a star for C64 music and has returned to business with scores for X-Beyond the frontier for example. Check out his work here: Chris Huelsbeck on mp3.com Edit: Quote[/b] ]Total 80ies overkill was "I Wanna Rock" by Twisted Sister. I´ll top it ! I´ll top it ! I´ll top it ! I´ll top it ! I´ll top it ! W.A.S.P, **** like a beast Now that were the 80´s
Shashman 0 Posted July 30, 2003 The opening title music from Mafia is beautiful, and the MOHAA theme too...Both really good  I really don't like the OFP music though...Not into rock
mr burns 131 Posted July 30, 2003 I count the soundtracks of both Turrican 1 & 2 (on amiga. C´64 sound was crap ) by Chris Hülsbeck to my alltime favourites, it was just another kind of music at that time. Vice City Soundtrack is also great because it catches the feeling of cruising through the town very well. *looks into cd rack* wow, i´ve still got the Shades Album by Chris Huelsbeck (his first one) ... listening right now: Turricanmedley
Guest Posted July 30, 2003 Wizball for C64! C'mon......at least its better than that bloody Midi trumpet when you put your Res disc in
Akira 0 Posted July 30, 2003 Favorite game music of all time is probably the soundtrack for the first Tenchu on PSX. Was great for ambiance and setting. Even ordered the soundtrack (had to import it). Still have it in fact and listen to it. I also like the music to Deus Ex, more good ambiance mood setting music. The opening music of Battlefield: 1942 isn't bad either.
denoir 0 Posted July 30, 2003 Vice City. I had many good laughs and nostalgic feelings from the radio stations in the game.
booradley60 0 Posted July 30, 2003 lol I get teased for knowing most of the songs on Vice City. Oh, and one of the talk shows is hilarious. I think it's Pressing Issues(?) with the Latin host. That one is pretty funny.
USMC Sniper 0 Posted July 30, 2003 Definately Vice City. But the best station is my own MP3 one, and I also like 2 Minutes to Midnight (I can play that song on my guitar ), and Bark at the Moon (Ozzy Osbourne). Tony Hawks Pro Skater 4 had TNT (AC/DC), and the Number of the Beast (also Iron Maiden), so that was cool too.
Baron Hurlothrumbo IIX 0 Posted July 30, 2003 Most impressive music is Streets of Rage, because the music was all programmed in binary. Yes. Binary. 01010100101010. That. GTA3 had the best musical selection, although some of the tracks were really really bad (on purpose). All the GTA series has had good music. C+C Hellmarch is great too, I have that in my winamp here. Didn't really like the music in OFP. Probably because I've played too many custom missions where the designer thinks its a great idea to leave the music playing when you need to hear tanks etc coming. Another music great - Cannon Fodder. 'War! never been so much fun! WAR! never been so much fun! Go to your brother, kill him with your gun, leave him dying in the sun.' Also the weird spoken word song in the original worms about Boggy B was good.
shadow 6 Posted July 30, 2003 I'm with Balschoiw on this Aah. those were the days... Remember Ocean's loading-tune for the cassette-games? Who can compete with that? On the newer games I must say the OFP main-theme is among the best if not the best The Red Alert-series are cool too (except Generals). I thought Ravenshield had some pretty good "mood-music" untill I installed R6 and R6-Eagle Watch again. The first series of R6 has some real kick-ass mood-music
The Frenchman 0 Posted July 30, 2003 "mood-music" This is "mood music"!?! Â
-TU--33ker 0 Posted July 30, 2003 Hey mr Tuseeker u gonna see Maiden on the Dance of Death tour? Im going to Earls court. Anyway the best soundtrack is undoubtably FF7s.Aeiris Theme tune, Cids music, the boss music. It all rocks I'm afraid not. It's not like Maiden is often here in Germany and they're never somewhere around me. Maybe I'll see them on a festival next year. I couldn't see them this year because I had to save the money for a new Bass Guitar. But you could see their Rock am Ring show on TV in Germany! BTW, my band plays "Run To The Hills" and "Wrathchild" on every gig we have. 80ies Heavy Metal rocks!
sanctuary 19 Posted July 30, 2003 Actually, the beginning of the game Homeworld will stay in my mind for an extended period of time due to the great music that was there. I remember that the game Souledge had great music too , and since i talk about fighting game , the final stage of Fatal Fury 2 was awesome with the Mozart "Dies Irae". Tex -USMC- 0 Posted July 30, 2003 Homeworld. And if you've never heard the Mario Brothers theme mixed techno style, you don't know what youre missing.
Necromancer- 0 Posted July 30, 2003 I really like "Hellmarch" too, actually I have almost every Red Alert track on my drive. (For the people wondering what the guy is chanting during the march.. he's yelling "Die Waffen... Leg An!" then he yells "Die Waffen... Leg Ab!") "Act on instinct" from C&C: Tiberian Dawn is one of my favorites as well... arr.. every time i listen to this track, i'd really love to drive in an Abrams and ravage an OFP battlefield. I grew up in my gaming life with C&C music... I even listen to C&C music in the car! Most game soundtracks are either electronica (Deus Ex, C&C), punk (C&C, OFP, C&C:Generals), classical (Total Annihilation, OFP, C&C:Generals) or rock music (C&C). If anyone is searching for a specific C&C soundtrack, you can PM me and there's a big chance i can help you with that.
DracoPaladore 0 Posted July 30, 2003 Ahhh...the sweet music of Homeworld. Adagio for Strings with Choir in the beginning sequence has to be the most memorable and best song I've heard.
