Question about hawks mi-26

Just thought I'd let everyone know that Hawk has released an updated version of Konyak's An-124 with working gears (at last!), flares, warning systems and other stuff. It's really good except for one thing which in my opinion completely ruins it - the handling is horrendous. It literally takes the whole map to complete a turn. If only Hawk had left the handling how it was originally. That was the perfect balance between realistic 'big plane' handling and gameplay. It's a real shame. Hawk, if you're listening, CHANGE THE HANDLING BACK TO HOW IT WAS!

Why do this when everyone is waiting for his C-130?It just doesn't make sense      I wish he'd just fix THAT instead of starting something new and leaving it as a piss poor addon  

Actually Shashman, Hawk finished the updated AN-124 before he released his first version of the C130.   His An-124 update has been out for a while but just never publicized much.

Yeah I know that the AN-124 predates his C-130 but we haven't had an update on the progress of the work on the Herc for a while and now he has started working (has worked) on this AN-124 when so many people are looking forward tothis Herc of his.If you start something you don't leave it half done and begin work on something else...

Well......I think he haves a reason for not completing the addon right? or else he wouldent leave it like this so i think we are complaining to much about his addons and must stop with that and be happy that he actualy made a update of the AN-124 and made a much better C130. And if you think you can do it better well Do it and stop complaining please....

As for the An-124, Shashman, I don't think Hawk is still working on it.  Where did he ever say on any forum that he is still working on the An-124?  

WaffenDennis- Nice theory, but I don't think hawk reads this forum. Only Furia reads these and I haven't seen him post anything regarding the C130 in awhile. As far as complaining goes, well that's Hawk's choice if he can't handle the heat and decides to just quit on the C130.  Someone is already working on another C130 that looks just as good.  Plus someone might always just udate Adammo's old C130.   So if Hawk wants to let what could have been one of the greatest aircraft addons in OFP history simply fade away into obscurity(like Konyak has sadly done with his AN-124) then that's his decision.   But has he said he was quitting on it?  No.  So don't put words into his mouth or start rumors unless he told you this was the case.  

Also in case you haven't noticed, this forum is all about reviewing people's addons and talking about them.  So if addon makers don't want to read the complaints about their addons, then they shouldn't read this forum or post about their addons here.   People were very upset about Hawk's C130 because it was SOOO beautiful yet and it flew so horribly.   It was just too frustrating to have something that looked that good and not be able to use it very well in missions.  

Besides *most* of the criticism was constructive criticism... just like how I keep saying that these Mi-26 addons KEEP crashing when the AI flies them and nobody has talked about fixing them... only adding more scripts to them.   Scripts are nice, but if the helicopters can't land without crashing most of the time, then to me the helicopter is almost useless.  

If someone fixed this issue I would love to use the Mi-26 for missions on that new Chechnya map that came out recently along with the new Russian SF pack and the BTR80/BMP3/BMD3 pack that came out awhile back.

I'm sick and tired of people saying that everytime I criticize an addonmaker or an addon...It's bloody ridiculous and just makes NO sense at ALL!!  

It's just as if a chef tells a lawyer to "make his own" after the lawyer complained about a meal the chef made...

Making addons isn't what I do but that doesn't mean I cannot criticize them...

Constructive critcism is ok I guess.

The difference between an add-on maker and a lawyer is that a lawyer will pulverize your wallet while this add-on wont make a dent in it .

Well making a addon is not just the simplest thing in the univers you know? its a big deal and takes some time to make it good? well it takes a long time and how shale you feel if yuo maked a verry nice addon where you worked months on it and many people are critising your addon? well you dont feel happy about it trust me.

Very true...but...addon makers will also have to realise that the bar has been raised many times.The standards have changed and people expect more and better quality.Its the addon makers themselves that have created this catch 22...so i expect that they will also have to face the consequences...just like we do
