F18 pack v1.3 by hudson & pennywise

Recommended Posts

Well, shooting down a plane that gos as fast as it go in real life would be impossible in OFP, jets I'm about, and that may be realistic, I don't know, that meens that MANPAD speeds should be upgraded to real life standards, making other stuff to be updated aswell, then you get an OFP that would be updated all over for realisem.

The main problem is things like, view distance, lagg, etc.

You can not get too reall with all this plains if you are limited by view distances and other setings that make OFP very reality limited.

@CERO.

For those that are interested, we are still working on the SU and we still have plans to release the plane. We have put alot of work into the model and it looks like we will have to make even more big changes due to complex animations. Alot of testing will go into making sure the complex animations work in multiplayer. Were sorry for the delay, but were hoping all the kickass features built into this plane will more than make up for it. We should have a website up soon where you can check the status.

Great news Pennywise. This addon just kicks ass and the Hornet is the perfect "flagship" (flagplane? crazy_o.gif ) for current OFP stuff.

Cheers,

The correct ammo name is RAD_Bullet20. The correct readme file can be found HERE.

Ah yes. But its don´t works. I am removed the weapon "RAD_Vulcan_20mm" - good.

But its not my problems solution. See plz the sample file on top of this page.

1. The F18 crashes in the earth near of target

2. Two secs later fail the LGB Bomb at the same place

My suggestions:

The jet flying too fast and to deeply

For LGB attack the Jet needs attack altitude of 10.000 Ft +

For CBU attack we need 150 - 300 meters

When the pilot of the jet is not player this addon can´t really used. In 100 of 100 tests the jet crashes into earth.

This F/A-18 is only one in the community. Hudson can you fix this problems plz ? :plz: :plz: :plz:

Every airplane addon does this. It is worse in high speed aircraft like the F18 becuase they have alot less time to correct themselves than an aircraft flying at 400 Km/h. Try a BIS A10 on the desert island and you will see the exact same results. AI will allways dive with nose straight at the target evey time it attacks. This is the way the game is coded.

Possible workarounds:

Set speed to limited in aircraft waypoint.

Set flyInHeight to above 200 meters.

Hi Hudson !

SetSpeedMode "limited" and flyInHeight doesn´t works. The F/A-18 will not hear my commands when its attacks the enemy. I have 3 (!) scripts to control this problem. But all these does´nt helps. The F/A-18 will not fly in height above 60-70 meters when any target be in sight. (sorry for my english)

Your scripts controlling speed and height may not work because there is allready a script controlling those settings. If you unpack the addon in the scripts folder you will find aiSpeedAdjust.sqs inside you can change the ...

<table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">;=========================================================

;Flight Altitude

;=========================================================

_Altitude  = 200

;=========================================================

;Speeds

;=========================================================

_limited = 65

_normal  = 119

;=========================================================

...settings for speed and altitude. Try messing with those and see if that helps. I have not played with this addon for some time but I think i remember the combat mode affecting the pilots speed and altitude. Just for kicks try setting his combat mode to careless and safe and see what those do.

Sorry - this can´t help me.

But i find this variable in the script:

"agvRADdebugAddon"

When i set it in the Init.sqs <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">agvRADdebugAddon=true than the F18 attacks with the CBU Bombs better than before. Its don´t fly (most times) under 80 meters. But the GBU Version attacks in ground hight. Better than bevore but not good enought.
