Mine is more brand new from the factory smile_o.gif

I also didnt use his files.. I made my own 1024x1024 texture template.. And reapplied them..

Anyway.. good work on the textures.. and me being in a mod team has nothing to do with my texture jobs smile_o.gif

Would it be possible if you could send me your texture and that p3d? I'm trying to make a small pack of Skyraider reskins wink_o.gif

As you might have noticed from my pic i also started on a camo version before i noticed fw200 had already made one. Crapsors. Anyway, here is another pic of my reskin.

FW200s is probably better tho, him being in a mod team and everything. Mine is more beaten up tho the way i feel a rugged aircraft should be...

Also thumbs up again for footmunch but this time for the fact that he has very clearly laid out mappings of the mesh. Most user made addons are very hard/impossible to reskin, but it was fast and easy with this one.

EDIT: Fw200: Hmm i just redid the textures but i left the p3d and everything intact so basically my version overwrites the default.. Also i'd rather hear first what footmunch thinks of all this playing around with his models first :P

Very nice. But if you could finish up the cockpit textures that would be awesome! If I remember correctly, I believe that's all that is needed.

The cockpit is completely unmapped and pretty much unmodeled too so i can't do anything about it. Besides, i am sure we can persuade Footmunch to work on the thud a bit more :P It's a great model!

Right, real life intruded for a couple of days there:

I hereby allow  _anyone_ to re-skin and re-release the Sandy

(or any other plane), but please mention where you got the

model, and make sure that it's clear that it's a _beta_ for

now. As has been demonstrated on numerous occasions, my

texturing skills are not of the highest quality, but if more

talented members of the community can improve the looks of

the mods, then I'm more than happy (less work for me,

hooray). I've never claimed my addons are definitive: I've just

been trying to fill some of the gaps in the range of addons

for OFP.

On to the details:

FW200 - I don't think my PM was very clear - you can release

the Navy grey version as well if you like.

Do you want to copy over the p3d you're using, or do you

want to re-apply your re-mapping when I've finalised the

mesh? I have no strong preference either way.

Trenchfeet - You're best off PM-ing me. If we need to go

to email, I can give you my work email addy via PM. (Nice

Tante-Ju BTW)

edc - I'll bump up the reload time on the rockets - they were

added fairly late, and I didn't test them too well.

Mox - I think I've always been open to re-texturing - the fact

that I don't binarize the p3d files should be a fairly good

indication of this.

As for 'gameplay' and 'faithful' Flight-Model versions, I always

try and make the addons fairly easy to fly, but there is such

a huge variation in player-ability and even player-hardware (ie

mouse flight versus joystick) that making a version for each

level is hard. If lots of people are having a hard time flying

the plane, I can increase the manuevarability.

I have no MP-testing ability (no web connection

at home), so I can't do any tuning for MP - if anyone has

specific 'this-is-bad-in-MP' comments, please post them here,

and I'll try to address them.

Lt_Phoenix - The bombs at least are restricted to one per

pass because I always find it difficult to target a new vehicle

in the middle of a bombing run. I will decrease the reload

time for you uber-gamers out there smile_o.gif .As for smoke effects,

I'll take a look - I'll have to find out which bank of rocket

launchers have fired (possibly by counting how many rockets

are left, and determining odd/even), and drop a few smoke

particles on the correct side.

Supersheep - You know, you could just send me the money

directly. That way, everybody's happy. BTW - take your

meds now tounge_o.gif .

DigitalCenturion - Yeah, crash models are nice, and I think

they are fairly easy to add to the pbo. Do you want plane

destroyed modelling or the static crashed-plane type?

(Probably both, I'm guessing).

The mapping is simple because it's all done in O2,

and I still cannot get that frickin Gizmo mapping working.

Nice Thud paint jobs. Like I said, the Thud is not at the top of

the list, but if you like, I can model a quick cockpit and hand

the addon over to you.

If anyone has any info on LizardX who did the original Thud,

could they post it here. I'd like to talk to him (or her) and at

least get some approval for the new addon, or possibly

combine the effort.

why not allow them to submit there skins for the nxt beta or full release, it better than having the same addon out there smile_o.gif

Cause FW-200 re-did the mapping. Thus, we now have two

p3d files. There's three ways we can go:

1) I send a final candidate mesh to FW200, and he re-applies

his new mapping. One (or both) of us then release the final,

re-texed addon.

2) FW200 sends me his p3d file, and I finish the 3D modelling

on that file only. (Note, if FW releases his re-mapped beta,

and doesn't binarize, I can get the p3d from the pbo myself).

3) We release a high-res and low-res version of the Sandy.

We'll also have to co-ordinate with DigitalCenturion.

Personally, I don't have a specific preference for any of the

above, although option 3 isn't really that good an idea.

Footmunch: I'd rather give you the texture files so you can use them as you see fit. I am horrible at doing releases of stuff, i never get around wrapping it all up and so. So if it's ok with you i could just give you the textures and you can then use them if you like when you work on the thud again. Also, if you want, i could maybe help with textures in any of your future or current addons. Like you said, less work for you (like you didn't work fast enough as it was tounge_o.gif)

OK here is my idea..

Footmunch wil continue his work on the Skyraider and finish off the model.. then he will send his model to me with a note explaining what was changed so I can modify my planes as well.. Then il send mine to Footmunch and he can wrap everything up and release the entire pack smile_o.gif

If he does make it, I wonder if the napalm will stick to enemy soldiers like the way the flames stick to soldiers in that flame thrower script used on the British Red Devils addon pack. That would be VERY cool!

All right, Thud is now re-activated. Sorry to LizardX if

he/she is out there.

FW - I'm just touching-up the Sandy cockpit for now. New

model should be ready by end of this week. I'll PM you a link

to the file when it's ready.

DC - I'll PM you my work email address so that you can send

me the Thud skins. I've worked up a Thud cockpit, so we

should be able to get the mod up to beta fairly quickly (say,

end of this week also). If you send me the Sandy skins you

did, I'll pass them along to FW200 in the private beta.

The napalm will _not_ be in the first release of the Sandy.

The particle scripting for the bomblets is a real pain, and will

need a lot of work. I'm sorry to anyone who really wants it,

but I'd like to get it right rather than release it piecemeal.

I will add BIS mines (as well as the current explosives) to the

cluster bomb to make it an area-denial weapon.

Select This - Well, we've got a few fixed-wing resources

already - Sandy, Thud, Canberra and MiG-21. What else was

planned? Right now, I'm fairly familiar with fixed-wing stuff, so

I could put together a MiG-19 and MiG-17 if required. F-4

and A-4 are already out there, obviously.

I'd be quite happy to donate models to the Nam mod, or

indeed any other mod. I'm not too worried about where the

addons end up, as long as credit is given.

Aight footmunch, i will email you the thud and sandy skins later. Also, for the napalm, there was some guy who released a video of a pretty damn good looking napalm script at the forums somewhere. I think he worked for BAS. Perhaps he could lend you the nice scripts he had made to save some work for you?

Yeah that was TJ (on this forum known as Jacoby) that made that script. I don't remember if he released it publicly however. It was however a map editor script and I'm not sure if it can be incorporated into an addon. But you might want to PM him about that as he's extremely talanted at scripting (he's been doing alot of the BAS scripts for their addons).

since yall are talkin about the nam pack air module..a nam era fighter pilot would be nice the default pilot looks more like a russian mid 80's pilot than anything american pilots ever wore...
