Yes we have now relelased the First Public Beta of the Tie Fighter Pack

It works on the second try to preview at first it says cannot oppen data3d/imperial_pilot_proxy.pd3, and the bomber views weird. But its cool! wink_o.gif

Edit...ok now that i've tried it...heres what i think:

needs detailing for sure, the textures are lacking any sense of surface texturing(might wanna check out the battlefeild 1942 mod to see if they have anything to address this) check this out

also i think if we can't fly into space then your gonna have to slow these puppies down!! run outta space real fast at 500kts plus and they definately need a better flight model to control them if they are gonna whip around the way they do...but all in all i think these are gonna be a blast!! and will look great on the afganistan map.One last thing ...the green laser blasts show through the back of the model and ruins their effects when they fire...otherwise they are quite believable and it looks like they're right out of the movie!!!great sounds too...and the initial blast of speed is pretty cool(providing we get better handling though)good start IMO..looking forward to its development...should be lots of fun playing with these indeed! smile_o.gif

this addon shows alot of promise...  The bomber's bombs wont fire though   rock.gif   Cant figure it out.

Also, the pilot is in the wrong place in the cockpit in all the models.

lastly, the cannons lock too easily, leading the AI to miss wildly with them.  I also wouldn't mind slightly higher velocity on the cannons.

 

Aside from these bugs, awesome, i mean, awesome addon.

thanks for ure feedback... i myself have found a fewbugs.. and we are workinging onit to get these done... same with that mising P3d files

u shall be notified on when the next update is

for the textures remember it is still a beta we wanted u to have these beta as soon as possible so thet textures wre the last thing to worry about

I dont usually go for unrealistic addons,but these babies rock!!!I love that take off and the sounds,the problems is that these ships tend to stop and hover if u go too low near the ground....After u correct those bugs allready mentioned these will be really fun to fly tounge_o.gif Good work

Very fun. I like the green laser bolts and the sounds.

Only problems: As stated, bombs don't work and the hover mode cutting in when you get too close to the ground is a bit anoying, maybe make it a turn on/turn off thing in the action menu.

Only other real problem is the cockpit on both the bomber and interceptor are messed up.

Besides those issue, very good smile_o.gif

the Creator of these addon (ArchAngel) will be updateing them so for no only use version 0.5 not 0.2 sorry about the inconveinience.. this was rushed to get it out to publice.. we got excited biggrin_o.gif

It is much fun flying the Tie Fighter!

Thank you so much.

Can you please tell us your plans what updates will come in the near future for the tie.

Would be nice to have some simple white/grey texes on it.

And PLEASE remove the explosion sounds when the "lasers" hit the ground. They are to loud and there are to much of them while you are firing multiple shots.

Maybe something like the "Turbo" like Airwolf has would be a nice feature.

But overall great work! I love it!

Can´t wait to hunt some X-Wing with it!

we are gonna add a hyperdrive system.. meaning u go very fast for a short time.. like a afterburner or the boost as u said

for any updates on these addons or anything else

I think the biggest problem you have right now is the AI not engaging in the air. Either than that, its great. One thing that bugs me though, is when you from 0 to 2000 when you take off. This leaves you with 0 time to react in rocky areas.

yes.. it is a bit of a fault there.. i guess the scripter became the mad hatterand got carried away.. in the update it will be shorten down

say istead of being 0 - 2000 it will be instead 0 - 200

although not 100% on that as we will test different speeds to see what suits it

Are you going to be able to get the AI to engage in the air?

The AI will be able to engage in to AIr To Air.. dont worry this will come soon.. this addon was more for the Human player for now.. so u can enjoy it

Hey! I really like the 1000.  It "blasts off"  tounge_o.gif  Just be careful about your azimuth when placing them! You could make the script levitate the plane a little higher (like to 50, or 100).  or, make it if the script could turn on and off, so the plane won't start or stop by accident.

Furthermore, the blasters need serious tuning, I've tested this addon for the past 2 hours, and couldn't get the AI to hit squat in the air and only rarely hit targets on the ground.  Lee Oswald is right about the explosions, they could be quieter, and the blaster projectile and the green "tracer" dont match up at distances over 400m; the projectile is too slow.

These other bugs may have been mentioned before, but

1:  Wrong pilot pos in cockpit (all planes, except tie fighter)

2:  Bomber can't bomb (bomber)

3:  Imperial Pilot.p3d not found error

Anyhow, this beta preview is REALLY cool, and the coming X-wings look amazing.  I am really impressed with this first showing by your team, good luck and keep it up.  biggrin_o.gif
