The ultimate c-130 from hawk

Recommended Posts

One other question for the maker-  will your version have chaff/flares?

Don't worry about it, old friend wink_o.gif.

is someone going to make a "fly for 36hours around nogova and refuel" mission for it? biggrin_o.gifwink_o.gif

just a suggestion from a 130 guy.... the E/H models currently in use by the USAF do not have the second set of external tanks and don't perform the tanker role.  Only rescue HC-130 and special ops MC-130P's do the tanking role.

no, but some European airforces do, dont forget others do use it apart from the US...

does that no mean there isn't going to be a standard grey "trash-hauler" and there will be only one with the tanking capabilites?  and not to be a jerk...but I am aware that other nations fly the Herk.  As a matter of fact...my hats off to the Aussies for being one of the first to fly the new J models in a combat zone.  My squadron won't convert to the J until 05-06.

One other question for the maker-  will your version have chaff/flares?

you'll have to ask Hawk that, i dont know myself

One thing that would be a cool feature on the para-drop one is this. If you are the commander of a group and sitting in the C130 you get these options "Prepare for drop" wich animates your squad into a standing "ready to jump" position. Then when you press "1...2...3 go go go!" everyone bails out of the plane with a few seconds interval for each. I hope you do this since it would add a heck of a lot to atmosphere. Imagine prepping for jump before jumping out of a plane. It would add a new dimension to paradrops smile_o.gif

It looks like its going to be really nice. Will there be any chance that you'll release more than one paint scheme?

a research note :-

If u want the cargo(troops) to unload within plane instead of ejecting, cargo will only unload if:-

a) the craft is out of land/ground range

b) the getout point has an open top.

To simulate open top - do not have a geoLOD top component over the cargo hold area. You will still have a top cover in 0.00 lod, no worries, it will look good but only no geo lod at the top of cargo hold.

You can have as many cargo getout memory points as u want. each cargo will move to their neareast point.

Purpose :- this option if u want to simulate paradrop. As the cargo cannot walk on any moving craft, therefore as your aircraft move forward, the cargo will drop off simulating paradrop.

config:- getout action = Manactpara ( stand with hands over head)

Just an idea. No need to implement if u do not want to or have the time for it. Cheers!

Wouldn't that look a bit weird having a bunch of paras stading in the hold with their hands on top of their heads? biggrin_o.gif

I think it would look better if they were standing as though they were in safe it wouldn't look cool if they were standing with their hands behind their head.

I think It would be cool to have them with their hands over thier front pack, you now the parachute in the front.

in an actual paradrop ops, once the jumpmaster's 'stand up' command is given( near target):-

1. The soldiers will stand up

2. check equipment of one another.

3. stand in line ready to jump, position:-

a. one leg forward

b. one hand raised up on the static line riser.

c. the other hand covering the rip cord of the reserve chute in front.

Once the pilot gives green light( over target), the troops will move forward, one step at a time, stepping off the ramp or the side door. ( or get kicked in the butt by the jumpmaster off the plane if he hesistates! wink_o.gif ). The static line hooked up to the C130 cables will pull open the chute as the soldier drops at 9.8m/s.

For free fall, hell!, u just jump off as you please. ( Although for the military type u will be carrying packs and equipment, pretty heavy, so u just step off at 22000ft and when u fall till 5000ft, pull the ripcord to open the main chute.

OFP:- no true para jump off simulation, so:-

a:- getout action=ManactPara ( both hands raised straight up)

b:- getout action=ManactMGGunner( both hands infront simulating covering reserve chute - WWII style)

c.:- getout action=ManactLAWGunner ( no such action but by default the soldier will M16soldier ready - one leg in front, both arms at chest level.

not a bad idea... but u wont be able to move freely as u cant move in moving objects right? but still give a good atmosphere

btw is there a release date for this addon?

If they attempted to model exactly what happens in a jump, they'd spend more time on that than on the plane itself.

The soldier falls at 9.8 m/s/s not m/s wink_o.gif

you don't fall at 9.8m/s/s..... this is the acceleration due to gravity up to reaching terminal velocity (you don't accelerate all the way down!...this would mean the higher you go the faster you fall, which is obviously not the case!)

sad_o.gif

dissapointed science teacher
