History lessons anyone?

Don't you guys feel saturated and sick of all the wars based in the past. Let's look towards other conflicts brewing up. Perhaps a contemporary campaign against terrorism. Make it as real as your development budget can (dismemberment, POWs, Torture, and all).

It might have some appeal but I for one don't react well to people profiteering off recent conflicts. I'm looking forward to the Afghanistan mod for OFP, it doesn't irritate me cuz it will be a free mod, no profiteering.

I work in a video-game store and it drove me insane during the Iraq invasion when dumb red-necks bought games related to the Gulf War. Mainly Conflict: Desert Storm, not only is that game a flamming piece of crap, but the publisher is making fat loads of cash AT THE VERY MOMENT people are fighting and dying.

I love a good war game, my desk is coverd in them. But I think it's unethical for a company to profit off a conflict that is only a few years or months old. WAnt to make an Operation Iraqi Freedom mod?...Have at it, I would gladly download and enjoy a mod-ers labor of love and enjoy it. But I turn red in the face with anger when I have to sell THAT STUPID game to IGNORANT red-necks so the STUPID publisher can make money off of it.

You're remarkably close...my store is next door to a Wal-Mart...*sigh* If you listen carefully you can actually hear the humanity and intelligence being sucked away...poor bastards.

I know what Impavido means. I play Combat Mission: Beyond Overlord almost as mch as I play OFP, and more often than not, I play as the Germans (unfortunately for the American AI). I couldn't do the same in games that model more recent or immediate conflicts. It's crass, it's wrong, and it's exploitative.

Ever see Spike & Mikes Twisted Animation festival?

Before all the toons came on Spike & Mike had a bunch of pop culture icons in their back-yard, pokemon toys, singing bass, etc.

They destroyed ALL OF THEM with baseball bats abd a shotgun.

The best part of it was when they had a singing bass on the floor. The thing was at the end of its song and turned its head up and opened its mouth. They stuck a shotgun in its mouth and pulled the trigger. LOL IT WAS PURE ART!!!!

Modern war is fine with me, as long as they tell the ENTIRE WAR , like you sometimes see kids with guns who don't know what to do, or womans that aid fallen men, you have to make thesame choises as the men in that war, will the kid fire? will the woman attack you? does that kid with his hands on its back carries a grenade behind it's back?

too bad it allway's turns into a pro-american game, America is good yes, but the way games make that, like making them invinvible, or making the enemy AI just plain stupid, that's just wrond...
