For those waiting for the new Catalyst 3.3 drivers, I found this story on Warp2Search.net:

The long awaited Catalyst 3.3 driver suite has been released earlier by a large OEM partner of ATI, which leaves the conclusion that the official generic drivers will see the light of day this week. The high anticipation results from ATI's unofficial announcement that the driver will include the R350 rendering path for R300 hardware, which should result in an overall performance increase of ~5%. Here is the low down on the release.
