Need help w/ my custom face

i just finished my first personal custom face. i put the file in my users/player1 file but when the game comes to the title screen, a error comes up as:

Image Users\Player 1\ face.jpg: dimensions 257x 252 not 2^n

what do i have to do?

Custom face must be 256 * 256 pixels.

Resize the pic in your photo editing program.

ok, i have it resized but now it won't show up on the custom face

So when you go to the "custom face" option under the faces in player setup, does it show up just plain white?

yea, would resolution of the picturs have anything to do w/ it?

It could be, I'm not 100%.

There may also be a limit on the file size, not too sure.

Make sure you have saved your face.jpg with STANDARD encoding, not progressive one...

Size does not matter, ...when it comes to kilobytes !

except for some server that will boot you if you have too large custom files like, say, above 20 or 30kbytes per file, anyway it wont prevent the face from showing in single player games or in the profile editor.
