MintyBoy 0 Posted March 17, 2003 Got 1.90, got kegs editor upg 1.11. And I can't for the LIFE of me find those nice, convenient sandbag wall sections. I can find the corner-sections (named "fence", strangely..) , camonets, camonet bunkers, fortresses, etc. I've looked in "Empty"- objects, support, even camera in desperation. Am I actually being really thick here, or did our dear Kegetys leave em out. Cos I sure as hell found them back in 1.45 with the original editorupdate102.. Argh! iNeo 0 Posted March 17, 2003 Sandbags are also called something strange, like wire, wooden..., something like that.
MintyBoy 0 Posted March 17, 2003 Empty> Objects> Wire is tank-traps with razor-wire rolls between. Empty> Objects> Wood Fence, however, is the right one! Thanks a bundle, iNeo. Though how "Sandbag Wall" gets (mis)translated to "Wood Fence", I've no idea. :/ Edit: And oh, "Avril Lavigne"?!?! Sure, she's cute and all, but could you get songs any more formulaic? /me holds up my "it's an opinion, not a flame" placard.
Skul 0 Posted March 17, 2003 iNeo, what happened to your siggy and avatar? Back on topic, though. Why are some things in the editor mis-named? It would be good to have a preview of the unit/object before placing it down and finding out it doesn't suit the mission. Dat's my opinion, anyways.
MintyBoy 0 Posted March 17, 2003 I think it's probably because of translation errors, myself. It could do with clearing up, mind. Especially since some objects (namely the camonets) show up twice. e.g. HOUSE Camonet Bunker and Small Shad (yes, it is spelt that way in the editor) are actually the same object. Speaking of which, there was always the old getdammage misspelling thing as well, but that got patched out a while ago..
Shashman 0 Posted March 17, 2003 One thing that is REALLY annoying and time consuming is placing a long line of fortifications like a wall of sandbags or a whole perimeter fence...You have to place EVERY single one individually (yuo can copy and paste I know but this is not really a good solution)...Also it takes soo long to get the fence pieces lined up OK..like they'll NEVER be perfectly aligned, there'll always be gaps or they'll overlap.. Is there a solution to this?
MintyBoy 0 Posted March 17, 2003 Shashman, If you know the exact lengths of the walls/fences (which I don't), you could do it by scripting- i.e. a whole heap of CamCreating (or VehicleCreate?), SetPossing and SetDirring to get exact relative positions and bearings. Might be easier than placing them in the editor, but you'd need to do a bit of research to get the dimensions right..
MrZig 0 Posted March 17, 2003 Someone should make a huge wire fence, don't ya think?
