DarkLight 0 Posted March 14, 2003 I don't have any cars (a bit too young for my own car ) but what i do want someday is one of those extremely lovely Ford Mustangs. I'm talking about the old ones, not the new ones. Man... i love that car
Sadico 1 Posted March 14, 2003 I'm 18 so i don't have my own car yet, but i drive my parent's cars. These are all the cars my family has owned since i was born: 2 VW Beetle (both were sold) Seat 600 (a real piece of shit, it was wrecked) 2 VW Golf (one of them was bought in the early 80's and we don't have it now, the other was bought in 1992 and is my sister's car now) Renault 25 (my father bought it in the early 90's and sold it later, it was a pain in the ass) Citröen AX (wrecked in an accident, it was my brother's car) Citröen Xsara (my brother's car) BWM 316ti Compact (my father's car, it's the one i drive)

(no flamebaiting) <span id='postcolor'> I've always had a love for Audi's. My brother-in-law had an Audi Quattro and it was beautiful. It was AWD, leather interior, it had a computer-like system built in. It could get up and GOOOOOOOOOOOO. I just remember being really impressed with it when I was young. Before I took the orders for Japan I had decided to buy a new car and had narrowed it down to a Subaru Impreza WRX and an Audi S4. I ended up starting the paperwork on the S4 but cancelled it soon after. S4s are a beautiful car, you can up the horsepower by like a 100 with a new chip too To answer Red Oct's question. You can't import an American made (ie specs, even if it was a 2002 Toyota or Mercedes sold over here I couldn't bring it) car to Japan because of the difference in safety and emission features. I guess cars built on or before 1976 are grandfathered so it's ok.

FSPilot 0 Posted March 14, 2003 College student + low pay + student pilot = cheap car. OK, it's not that cheap, it's actually a good buy for $4000 US so I can't complain. It's a 5 gear manual transmission 4 cylinder engine, 4wd in case I need to go hunting or playing airsoft, around 18-20 mpg which comes in very handy nowadays. Not really fast, but fun to finally have my own car. </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE"><span id='postcolor'> *drools* My Dad drove an alpha romeo spider when he was at the academy, is it the same type of car or just a similar name? Schoeler 0 Posted March 14, 2003 Hah I've had some lovely cars! 1. 81 Mercury Lynx. Forest Green. We called it the "Smurf". I beat the hell out of that thing, never changed the oil and the engine seized up on me. Also I had a 64 Chevy Impala SS with a 283 and a 2 speed Powerglide transmission at the time, and I loved that big chunk of Detroit rolling steel, but I could never get it running right and my Dad made me sell it. I was 17, and I still haven't quite forgiven him for it! 2. 79 Ford Crown Victoria with a 302 V8. Got that in my elderly aunt's will. The engine had a variable venturi carburetor that caused it to stall if you punched the gas. I had several near death experiences trying to jump out ahead of a truck or two in that car! 3. 86 GMC S-15 Sierra Classic pickup with a 2.8L V6 and a 5 speed. God I loved that truck! I used to drag race Mustangs in that thing and that little V6 had some torque! I could win on a stoplight to stoplight race, but anything over 1/8th mile against a V8 and I was a gonner. 4. 72 Chevy Luv truck with a suped up Isuzu engine and a short throw 4 speed tranny. My uncle Frank, who owned a body and engine shop and built dragsters (top fuel) for a hobby decided it would be funny to take his old truck and turn it into a sleeper. He gave it to me when he got bored with it. I used to love to drive that thing. It had this high revving 4 banger that made a lovely WAAAAAGH! noise when you stepped on the gas. It could really wind out, and the truck was pretty fast, though no competition for a muscle car, it blew away a lot of kids in Dad's Honda. 5. 94 Pontiac Grand Am. I bought this in the Navy and still own it, though I'm saving to buy a 98 Mustang. That was the last year they made the rounder body style before going to the squared off style. I don't like the newer style Mustangs. I'm going to buy a 98 and fix it up. I bought my Pontiac new, and new cars just aren't worth the money. Oh, also I had a 69 Camaro for one day. I bought it from a dealer and it turned out to be a lemon, so I took it back. Someday I'll fix up a 61 Impala SS, and a 66 Malibu SS with a 396 and a 4 speed. Also, I want a Mercedes or a Porsche 911 GT2 after law school.

Schoeler 0 Posted March 14, 2003 Oh, Red Oct. Â Nice car. Â I had a friend who had a Shelby GT 350 and that car was hot! Â Fast little 'stang. My Dad had a 66 Mustang GT with a Hi Po 289 and a 4 speed. Â It had the Pony interior and everything, but he sold it for a VERY fast 64 El Camino with a race built 283 and 4 speed. Â That car was damn fast and he raced it up until my little brother was born. Â Then my Mom made him sell it and start acting like a father by trying not to get himself killed. Â He spent 5 grand balancing and blue printing the engine and this was back in 1974, so you can imagine the amount of work that went into it. I come from a racing family. Â My Dad and uncles all raced, and my Dad met my Mom through racing. Â She had a wicked 55 Mercury that my grandfather ( a Ford factory mechanic for 40 years) built for her. Â She impressed the hell out of my Dad while working on it one day and then blew him away in his 66 Fairlane. Â They've been together ever since. Â Also she had a 71 Mustang Mach 1 with a 351 Cleveland motor. Â I used to love that car when I was little.

Maraudeur 0 Posted March 14, 2003 Doh ! Yes 2.5 liters Brgnorway GTV6 is better designation LOL ! I was thinking to Balschoiw's spider - and also thinking that he got very good taste either - and its sister modern GTV with 3.0 engine while typing lol ! I mixed the both ! "" GTV 3.0 V6 "" while I had GTV6 and now exists GTV 3.0 V6 Â Thanks for correcting me Btw, I had owned also an '72 Alfetta 2.0, a 146 TI ( well I first rent a 1.8 TS and crashed it at 180 Km/h in Spain, then went to my dealer and bought the TI ). But those two were not, for the Alfetta, a rear driven as rigourous as the GTV, and the 146, hummm, more spirit than others non-Alfa products, but modern front driven cars with quiet handling settings ... I missed fun with BMW's, I regret I did not purchased a '88 325, while I could and when they were living the last time with auto-lock differentials... *** Now praying to save enough money for the future 157 *** Do you practice supermotard ( err, supermoto in english isn't it ? ), as you're speaking of KTM ? This is the funiest motorcycle disciplin ! * remember myself on open roads in Paris and mountains above Biarritz with hardly homologated 500CR, riding as a completely nut and road criminal, lol ! * Edit : Reply to Brgnorway, not Balschoiw oops
