Last I heard Hellfires weren't AA missiles.

VXR 9 Posted March 10, 2003 yes the M730A2 Guided Missile Equipment Carrier (Chaparral)
Bosniarat 0 Posted March 10, 2003 No the Chaparral only carried AIM-9D Sidewinder and The Stinger Missile Systems http://www.designation-systems.net/dusrm/m-72.html And has Currently been retired from the National Guard in favor of the Advenger missile systems. In all honesty I hope that BIS updates the engine to allow for Missile trucks. I think that would be a great help HOOOAAAH!

regnarsaw 0 Posted March 10, 2003 This Addon is not a real military vehicle, however there is a version of the M113 called the ITV(Improved TOW Vehicle), but even that is has been decommissioned.

What a waste of a missile. Has anyone here been in combat or on maneuvers with helicopters? I have. Unless you're in the desert, you won't know that there's an attack helicopter anywhere near you until it flies over you. You won't hear them coming in most circumstances, and you certainly won't see them coming. And if you're in the desert, I might add, you won't see him at all. He'd have killed you long before you even knew he was there. You'd have to be one lucky mofo to find a helicopter pilot who is dumb enough to maintain a hover while you track and engage him with a TOW. Targeting, acquisition and engagement from beginning to end can last up to 45 seconds with flight time to max range. TOWs are pretty slow. And remember, you have to keep that sight on-target the whole time. One jerk and you've just wasted a missile. So, while it is technically possible, as Evis mentions, no one in their right mind would ever target an aircraft with a TOW. I think I remember my Javelin instructor telling us that the Jav can hit helos with a decent chance of success, since it's a bit faster, with more maneuvering thrusters and fire and forget. Sorry.. don't mean to sound all grognardish about this.
