USMC Sniper

Crime city is back on track!

Recommended Posts

Well as some of you know, my mod had to be changed to Crime Scene, etc, and we had a shortage of members, but all is fine now. We have merged with the original Crime City, and we're planning on releasing a weapon beta very soon, probably on the weekend. Since we will be releasing the mod in parts, we need to know on what to work on next. I was going to work on the characters, but maybe you guys want the vehicles or island first.

just a lil idea... but my opinion is the buildings first....it would benifit the community faster than an island... ohhh well.... keep up the work! I can't wait to start stealing cars and everything!!! smile.gif

My vote would be that you release nothing until the complete mod is ready and when anybody whines asking for something you can tell them to bugger off, releasing the mod as a whole would have a far greater impact than simply letting parts of it trickle out, after all there's not a lot that can be done with those parts for the average joe, just my tuppence smile.gif

Yep I was thinking about this, I'll discuss it with my other members. I want the weapons just to be a test, to show that we're doing stuff. Plus, if the stuff will be released in packs, the buildings would naturally have to be done BEFORE the island, since the island would be a piece of shit (or of equal worth) without buildings. wink.gif

Ok we will release the mod as a whole, but will also release bonus addons once in a while. The weapons can stay, since that can give you guys something to play around with.

Obviously the main benefit of releasing them in packs is you get feedback which can help to inspire as well as point out bugs that may have creeped through, personally my suggestion would be a closed beta test, if you ask for the first 10 people (for example) who wish to be beta testers to Email you I'm sure you would get 10 within the first hour or so smile.gif

This one seemed to pass me by, but i like the look of it. What exactly is it? Has anything already been released with regard to new islands or missions centred around the crime city idea?

The weapons. smile.gif If you read my post above we're gonna release it as a whole, the weapons just being a beta you can try.

and what happens when the mod goes under? like the 500,328,000 other mods?confused.gif then that leaves the rest of us F_CKED?? i say give us what u got. cuz i personaly am sick and tired of mods goin under left and right and the only thing left are pretty pretty pictures to drool at while some smuck has a whole shit load of cool addons and stuff on his computer

Again this is only my personal view but I would prefer something to be fully finished before release so we don't end up with the the addon scene being flooded with unfinished and virtually unusable addons, worst case scenario is that we end up with a large number of addons which are basically the same thing, different versions of the same plane or whatever, I just think it's pointless, waste of time for those making them and a waste of time for those downloading them, give us a fully complete mod, addons and island and campaign all together and able to be used at the same time smile.gif

Hmmm, Half-Life doesn't even have addons, yet there are tons and tons of mods out for it. A mod means a modification to the original games gameplay, graphics, etc, so it's not a mod if it is released in parts. Be patient, no one is paying me or any other mod maker, so we can take as long a we want.

I don't really mind what you make first, just make sure that you don't release everything bit by bit, one house and then one car, if you'll release it in one big package it'll be much better, I can't count the number of times that I've given up a MOD that was only 20% done since it was lacking in everything and wasn't ready yet.

Take your time and stun us smile.gif

Don't forget missions! I'm tired of getting bits and pieces of mods, which only sit around and arent used. A kind of single player mission of some sort would really be nice, to make use of the new addons, as well as any MP mission.

The missions can't be done without the addons being done first, obviously. That's why it's not on the list.

Does flashpoint lag much with millions of buildings?

eg. like it does in that big town on Nogova where it lags a bit.

With millions of buildings, yes it would lag.

Millions of buildings = millions of polys = lag.

How many millions are you thinking about though? A fraction of a million? One million, two million?

well hey take all the time you need, im jsut pissed off about mods, cuz i have YET to see a single mod last more then 3 months. and BAS and TOW dont really count cuz they make addons and not campaigns and shit like this. im still bearing a grudge after that nam mod went under. and ive seen may other mods (which i could care less about) go under after a month or 2. so nothng personal but "mods" dont seem to last long around here. and i jsut dont wat the 10, 15, 20 of u to have 300000000 addos and islands on ur PC and the rest of us have nothing but pictures to go "wow that WOULD have been cool, but there no mod so we will never ever ever see it ever again"

One thing about your weapon, the R870 is horribly inacurrate. I don't know how accutare it is in RL, but I doubt its that bad. Other than that its pretty good.
