General Discussion (Spearhead 1944 RC Branch)

-can you do something in the showcase? (build defense etc...) where is the "deploy" button "on the map" or what is it called that can be used to start something.....?

-map is very detailed, but I would have shown it to the players first with sunny weather, it would definitely be nicer because of the shadows, and the grass grid distance could have been maximized

-maybe I can't find a German campaign?

-At first glance, the AI seems to be completely basic,why not integrate ASR? or TPW cas?

overall, this is a very demanding DLC

After the latest update I have to say I am now extremely excited to see where this DLC goes next. Great work on adding so much new content and an entirely new map. I feel like with a few more updates this will be up there with SOG. Definitely my favorite DLC besides Prairie Fire. It's such a great experience that I absolutely love it. Keep up the good work guys!

how do I turn off the solo tank crew controls?

 

I have made up an MP mission, and this mission requires a crew of humans to crew a tank, taking up each position

however, for some reason, I can't turn off the "war thunder"/"world of tanks" controls for the tank. 

when one person gets in they can control the whole tank, when 2 or more people get in the driver control is randomly given to another crew member, from loader to commander but never funny enough the driver

this only affects tanks in the spearhead DLC

please advise how I go about turning this off

Turns out there are 2 types of tanks, normal ones and driverless ones

 

for others who are looking

 

driverless ones don't have an open driver slot and allow you to drive them from other positions

normal ones behave like all the other tanks in Arma

Just an idea I'd like to put out there, I would really love to see the battle of Stalingrad & The Eastern Front as a proper CDLC in Arma 3. I believe this would be a great opportunity for the Heavy Ordinance Team as they have already made the successful Spearhead CDLC which they did extremely well. Also not to mention I believe they have access to the Iron Front content which has tons of Eastern Front assets, I think if they had to introduce the battle of Stalingrad to Arma 3 and do something brand new with that content, it would be an absolute hit!

 

I know the map of Stalingrad is huge, but maybe the first focus could be on the initial assault on Stalingrad with the middle portion of the map including Mamyev Hill, Pavlovs house, train station, USSR HQ & Port Landings, grain silo, etc. Then as a second map added later (similar to how Mortain was added) it could be the factories district with Red October, Tractor Factory, Apartments, etc. 

 

Some cool new mechanics could be:

-A focus on brutal close quarters fighting

-New artillery mechanics involving the Russian Katusha

-New sniper mechanics where NPCS react to the reality of snipers

-Russian charges

-Building Ruins fighting - new aspect of using ruins for cover

 

Even if this could be done similarly to the Spearhead CDLC in the way the missions were setup with choices, that would be awesome!

 

Anyways it's an idea I had, hopefully it could come to pass but I believe it's a great opportunity :)

That would be cool, but that would be a 3 year project, and by the time it was done, Arma 4 would be out, so a cDLC with that kind of scale is very unlikely to happen at this point.
