BattlEye initialization failed

Recommended Posts

Couple years ago I started getting the BattlEye initialization failed error when joining a network server (I can join official servers, even tho they are also protected by battleye). Now, I tried multiple solutions, like reinstalling battleye, integrity of game files, reinstalling arma3, ... Basically everything of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZLZl3ZrZZ0&ab_channel=ComputerSluggishTutorials
Now I started looking into the RPT files and found this:
15:26:24 BE connection with remote machine could not be established. Error=3
15:26:24 Warning Message: BattlEye initialization failed

Any idea how to fix this?
I'm using windows 10.

Hi welcome to BI forums!

Since you tried some of the things i would suggest, i would recommend following this guide and see if it can help, and below that too.

This is from the BattleEye support site (https://www.battleye.com/support/faq/):

I am getting kicked for the following violation(s). I don’t use hacks, so what can I do to resolve this?

BattlEye initialization failed

First of all, please ensure that BE is properly installed for your game. You can manually install it by following the instructions on the download page.

If that doesn’t help there might be a problem with your file permissions.

To fix this please go to “C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\[game name]”

(make sure that you can see hidden files/folders if you can’t find this directory) and delete the BattlEye folder there.

If the issue still persists your system’s root certificates might be broken/corrupted.

To fix them download and install the following update from Microsoft: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2813430.

Also try creating a new ingame profile and launching the game with that.

Adding to this connect to servers through the Arma 3 launcher, and not the ingame multiplayer browser.

Another note is, if you rent a server like i do and its private for you and friends, then turn BE off in the server.cfg

and you dont need it if its just you and your buds. You dont need verify signatures on either.

like this

// SECURITY
BattlEye          = 0;    // If set to 1, BattlEye Anti-Cheat will be enabled on the server (default: 1, recommended: 1)
verifySignatures  = 0;    // If set to 2, players with unknown or unsigned mods won't be allowed join (default: 0, recommended: 2)
