wonderbra 0 Posted February 22, 2003 Hi all, Give IceBone's Missions a try - they rock ! http://ofpmissions.topcities.com/ Have fun wonderbra
Strongfart 0 Posted February 27, 2003 Yeah, they look good. I remember that earlier versions of Nova City tended to lag, but we played the new one with 15 peeps on our clanserver and it was gr8 fun. WWI Airfields is a must see for all, who like Plane Frenzy. The heavy anti camper bombs are cool stuff. I will check the other missions, as soon as I find time 4 it. Gr8 work, IceBone ! Skunk Monkey 0 Posted February 27, 2003 Nice I put the 2 coops and the C&H on our server - renamed to new convention, it would be nice if you renamed them as standard - see this thread http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....t=26694 Naval Base is the only one I tried so far but it runs nicely on our server and I like the concept. Nearly beat it first time with no artillary and full squad (well I think we nearly cleared village) seemed a lot of spawns ... with artillary it was easy to lose your lives - lol
icebone 9 Posted March 6, 2003 Thanks for your feedback on my missions, wonderbra, Strongfart & Skunk Monkey. I stopped playing Flashpoint for a while, but I could not resist, to start it again. That's also the reason, why I relaunched my missions page. If you like Naval Base, then also try Checkmate. I think the name describes it pretty well. I redesigned the page a little bit, to give you more info about each mission. The mission names are changed according to the naming convention. Thx for the link, Skunk Monkey. Enjoy my missions: http://ofpmissions.topcities.com/ and have fun IceBone
XRayProof 0 Posted March 9, 2003 This weekend I played your Naval Base and Checkmate coop missions together with 2 friends in a LAN. I must say: they are the most challenging missions, which we've played in a while. We tried them over and over again and approached in many different ways from different locations. We got spotted, surrounded and even killed from behind. Well, the AI set us checkmate. I never spent that much time before with scanning the horizon for patrols and tanks, as I've done in Checkmate. Their flexible reaction on our moves surprised us many times and makes the mission highly challenging and completely unpredictable, even after several tries. That thrill and the varying starting locations of players kept us playing it for some 4 or 5 hours. We had an excellent time, but unfortunately I have to admit, that we were not successful in finishing Checkmate. Btw: the smoke dropping chopper is a pain in the ass. Â Nice website, gr8 mission design, gr8 replay value and we gonna keep on trying for sure. You get my vote in the "All-time best missions list" thread! Strongfart 0 Posted March 17, 2003 Hi IceBone, As promised earlier, I give u my feedback on your coop missions. We played them during a couple of evenings last week. I fully agree to Strongfart. They are highly challenging, varying and have gr8 replay value ! But what exactly is the task of the smoke dropping chopper in checkmate? I couldn't find info about it on your page. Sometimes the trouble started, right after it spotted us, sometimes not. During our early approaches in Seagull Wings I found the convoy with my OH58 and stopped it right afterwards. That turned out to be a big mistake, because it was in the middle of a wooded area. Approaching the convoy later by foot cost us a lot of casualties. Their infantry was very well hidden and had good cover ... Your missions can't be solved in Rambo approaches. They need good tactical preparation during briefing and during the game play. That's gr8. Â Beside your coop missions our clan likes your WWI Airfield CTF mission. It's a good alternative after being wiped out in your coop missions. Â It would be gr8, if u could add more WWI equipment, like Grokk's balloon: You find it on the No Man's Land webpage: http://members.lycos.nl/nomansland/ Cheers, [NoX] Strongfart
Strongfart 0 Posted March 17, 2003 Lool, Stupid, stupid. Of course I fully agree to XRayProof. Â [NoX] Strongfart - out.
icebone 9 Posted March 18, 2003 Thx for your feedback, XRayProof & Strongfart. It's gr8, that u like my missions. I'm gonna add a link from my page to this thread. The smoke dropping chopper in Checkmate acts like a scout. If it spots you, it drops smoke, to mark your position and transmits it to some vehicles... These vehicles will come, if the terrain is suitable for them. If not, then they stay at the village. Hope that helps you next time, Strongfart. Â The balloon you posted, looks gr8. Unfortunately there is no machine gun in it. I'm probably not gonna make a version 2 of WWI Airfields with addons. But feel free, to do it yourself or within your clan. Mission making is not that difficult. Just give me some credits in your version of WWI Airfields. Let me know, if u need some help or testing. icebone 9 Posted December 28, 2003 Hi everyone, The Check Mate & Naval Base coop missions are updated. Have fun & enjoy them at: http://icebone.gmxhome.de/ IceBone
icebone 9 Posted June 13, 2004 Hi all, There are 2 additional mp missions available for download on my site: CFR Nogova Battle I CFR Nogova Battle III Both maps combine elements of classic Capture & Hold maps (like Battlefield, River Battle, Desert Rumble, ...) and also elements of CTI/RTS maps. I call this combination CFR (Conquer For Resources). Vehicles will not respawn automatically anymore at the base and at the flags. To build the necessary vehicles and equipment for your own moves and to respond to enemy movements, the players earn money, have got an account and are able to transfer money between each other. The individual flags offer different types of vehicles and equipment to buy. In CFR Nogova Battle III for example there is a variable number of flags to be captured between 7 to 4, depending on the behavior of the players during the game. Detailed descriptions of both missions are available at my site: http://icebone.gmxhome.de Enjoy the missions IceBone
benu 1 Posted June 13, 2004 Just installed them on our server so "the icebone collection" is complete again And i noticed an update to seagull wings too BTW: did you change anything with the nova city ii mission? It is still v1.3, but checksum seems to differ from the v1.3 on our server?!?
icebone 9 Posted June 15, 2004 Hi benu, No, I haven't changed Nova City II v1.3 since 03/2003. The only thing I did, was changing the name of the mission file (all lower case & spaces replaced by underscores). Maybe that's the reason for the different checksum. icebone 9 Posted September 2, 2004 Update of Seagull Wings and Checkmate There is a major update of the Seagull Wings map and some smaller ones of the Checkmate map. Seagull Wings v3.7: Until now Seagull Wings has been a pure cooperative map for 8 players on West side. With version 3.7 I upgraded it to an attack & defend map with additional 4 player slots on East side. Now you are also able to protect the convoy (e.g. with the support of artillery fire) against attacks of West players. In case the East slots are not used, the map is basically a coop map. Checkmate v3.7: Besides some smaller changes to East, the West players are equipped better now. At start every player carries a heavy machine gun, which he could set down and pick up again at his current position. rekster 0 Posted January 10, 2005 I see the site is down. Are the missions still available anymore? I played some of them, and they are extremely well done.
