Finding my Arma 3 profile folder on Linux

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have been searching and looking like a maniac to find my Arma 3 Profile folder on Linux.

I want to get access to the file where you can change the sensitivity, refresh rate mouse acceleration, fov, smooth etc etc.

Anyone know where I can find that?

If I rember correct it was somewhere inside a hidden folder (folder starting with dot) below the home folder.

I don’t seem to find that folder, unfortunately.

According to PCGW, the default location is:

$HOME/.local/share/bohemiainteractive/arma3/GameDocuments/Arma 3/

so @sarogahtyp is onto something. 🙂

Hm… I think I tried this. I’m on Pop!_OS but that wouldn’t be any different or?

I tried it but without success.

I mean can't you just do a search through this $HOME folder or even whole drive for .Arma3Profile or just Arma 3? From a quick search for Linux search tools via my favorite search engine shows FSearch or Angry Search to be seemingly popular hits...

I’m new to Linux. How could I do this?

Em... this wasn't a subtle hint at all, dude.

Look, this is not the place to learn the basics of using a computer but I'll set you on the path regardless. Whatever the operating system you are using, process of finding solutions and learning is the same.

1. Get a competent internet browser like Mozilla Firefox.

2. Go to that browser Settings and select a default search engine such as DuckDuckGo.

3. Whatever problem you have, enter the words into the search bar and hit enter.

There is a high probability you will find a solution within first 10 to 20 results. If not, brake it down into smaller pieces.

So you can start with something like:

"how to search for a file in Linux?"

"FSearch for Linux"

etc.

Good luck!

If your new to Linux, how did you install Arma in the first place? Did you use a guide?

This could give us more information of where your files are being stored.
