JJonth Cheeky Monkey 1 Posted February 19, 2003 I have replaced the standard M60 sound with a much nicer sound, but it is too quiet in game so I have tried using a few programs to make it louder (cool edit and some other thing you get with the computer). When I convert it to a .wss file it is only 30 bytes big (original was 8.6kb) and is silent in game. Does anyone know how I can fix this?
mr. Duck 0 Posted February 19, 2003 How many seconds does that new sound of yours play? Make sure it is exactly the same as the default one. Example: Default one plays for 0.03 seconds So you're new one has to be that long too. edit: more tips: watch the frequency of the wav file. make sure you have renamed youre new sound correct (for the M60 machingun it's m60mgun I think.) JJonth Cheeky Monkey 1 Posted February 20, 2003 It worked fine before I made it louder. Exactly the same lentgh. After I converted it, the file size went down to 30 bytes
mr. Duck 0 Posted February 20, 2003 Hmm that's strange. This stuff happened to me once but that was converting wav to ogg. From then on I never did such a thing again. Try saving the file in another name and then rename it again (just try it maybe it'l work) to the m60 name. Other then that, I have no idea then.
JJonth Cheeky Monkey 1 Posted February 20, 2003 Just tried using Cool Edit again and it works. Don't know what went wrong when I tried it the first few times though.
Leone 1 Posted February 21, 2003 It's only a thought, but maybe the first time it didn't save the extra non-audio information that it usually does? That's about all I could think of....
