The Unsung Vietnam War Mod 3.0H - Hotel Released !!!

This is Unsung 3.0 Hotel!

 

We've updated the S&S based equipment in Unsung, thanks simcardo!,  and fixed a number of long-standing bugs. 

 

Jamie provided us with new textures for the liferaft, a new PAVN helmet and a Mao cap. {E-Z}Johnny.D provided more updates to the units, seals in particular. 

 

The flight models of C-1 Trader and O-2 Skymaster were improved to make them more manageable. The CH-21 helicopter now sports a rescue basket option.

 

The parachutes and planes and helicopter and radio configuration were fixed in regards to skeleton errors and event handlers.

Thank you,its a great mod I've encountered a rather a bug with M48.

Tank spawns in with its crewed "opened hatch" position and does not turn in the vehicle even though they are in combat.

Hello, Thanks for the report. We're investigating the issue currently, it's unclear to us what is the core of the problem though. Can take a while.

Glad if I helped,for the good measure I just launched the Unsung and the issue still came up.And it happens with the NVA T-54 too.

Good morning Vietnam! And hello fellow G.I.s! Good news! The holiday season is here and along with letters and presents from home, we here at the Unsung team have a new update for you all in the form of Unsung 3.3 Hotel! Let's jump in and take a look at what's changed. Some of the changes included are bringing the updated Redux M20 Super Bazooka model into Unsung while correcting a naming inaccuracy in the old design (Now known as the M1A1) courtesy of Snoops and more realistic weapon sounds in a few weapon designs spearheaded by teammate McWhopper as the main features, along with reading the US 1st Cav units (sorry for accidently cutting that last patch all, but the boys are back in town) topped off with a nice slurry of vehicle related bug fixes that may have been souring the holiday cheer for you all.

why did you turn off the target camera on the A7 Corsair 2, it has one of the most advanced avionics at that time

Yes they were pretty advanced for their time, but note that's the HUD, not a camera pod those didn't get assigned until well after Vietnam. Having said that we do plan, at some point, to improve this area.

Thanks for this overwhelming content!
Our community will have an event depicting a carrier-based air campaign with this mod on saturday. Currently, I'm trying to test all the air weapons and find out their properties but I'm drawing blank on the "Mark Target" option, e.g. in the A-6 Intruder, so far. The GBU-8 HOBOS, as expected, doesn't seem to follow the mark but there isn't any other weapon in the arsenal that should, at least according to what I could find about them. Is there some kind of documentation on the air weapons and their properties? (E.g. difference between AGM-45 and AGM-78 etc.)

Thanks for your kind words! I believe the Mark Target option of the A-6 was an alternative to the TGP, which I experimented with when converting the plane from Arma 2 to Arma 3. I have some doubt if this has tested further, so please use with caution.

Hi, unsung team, I've been enjoy your mod for a long time, thank you for the efforts!
There are some weird issues about unsung I wanna talk about:


1 The weight of M72 rocket launcher's tube is 3.86kg(I use ACE to reveal it), and its rocket round is 2.95kg, so the full M72 system is 6.81kg! I checked wikipedia, it said full system(Complete M72A2) should be 2.3kg. Also unsung M72 can load vanilla RPG42 rounds, weird thing.

 

2 The XM177E2 GL(XM148/M203) version's weight is 4.99kg, but the XM177E1 counterpart is 2.95kg.

 

3 Unlike M79 and china-lake, XM148/M203 on rifles(M16/XM177) do not have a working leaf sight, render them not available to engage enemys beyond 50 meters.

 

4 For the GL versions of M16/XM177, sights can not be mounted on their carrying handles.

 

5 The M1 garand rifle grenade version can use vanilla GL rounds(M406 type)

 

6 I've checked so many weapons, then found out that so many of them have a very low FOV(zoom in too much) when aiming down sights, is that intentional?

 

7 The vehicles labled M151 seem to be real life Willys jeeps.

 

8 Many of the static and vehicle-mounted machine guns do not have recoil when openning fire.

 

9 Many machine guns(M60,PK,RPD) have a version labled 'Mg support', do they have any difference compare to their normal versions?
 

10 would you please use vanilla  Starter Pistol's reload animation on unsung revolvers?

Thanks for the report(s), not sure anyone will work on those issues though. Most players seem to have migrated to Unsung Redux and use the SOG PF weapons rather than original Unsung one. So chances are slim.

@TeTeT Unsung is the single best mod for A3 in my humble opinion. The only problem I have with it is it lacks documentation for its framework - how to use the supports module for example.

@TeTeT Our group is having a blast thanks to @Unsung mod! I made a little script to clear jungle from vegetation, so we can have helicopter landing zone. It works fine, only the biggest trees cannot be removed ...
