Arma 3 Extention Pack

Basically, it be cool if someone could make a mod that adds all the vehicles and weapons that each faction should have had. Boats, fixed wing aircraft, and the likes, with respective camo's and stuff. This shouldn't replace current tech on each faction, but only add to their arsenal.

That's an excellent start! So, that means someone could fire seeking missiles at enemy units in their peripheral, right?

As a gunner, using the TrackIR to move the turret is very sluggish. I assume that could be changed via sensitivity settings, but then wouldn't that make it too sensitive for analog (i.e.: joysticks, control pads)?

I have had a bit of luck; more of a proof of concept than anything but at least it might be a starting point for someone else (or a bit of fun to use solo)

Pretty rubbish implementation but gets the job (somewhat) done.

There are a few drawbacks and it isnt 100% reliable but there is no requirement to adjust VR/IR sensitivity at least. Let me know how it goes if anyone tries it eh (PM pref as I dont check here often)

I am requesting that someone make a map based on the US Virgin Island Thomas. I really don't care what the name is. If you are stuck and don't know what kind of name to use, I just suggest Crikx Island. thats the best i can come up with lol. Anyway, my friend and I thought this would be a really awesome woodland map to create, simply because it seems like it could be a really great map for Arma. Considering all of the trees on this island, and on the right side of the island there is a lot of urban activity (which could be modified, made smaller), I think this is a great idea for a map.

If anyone does take this up, please be sure to include all the islands shown in the picture. Use the L3DT tool to do everything you need. I attempted to create this map myself, but the terrain builder is WAY too complicated. I was making mistakes left and right and I knew for me it would just be impossible without the proper teaching.

I saw some article about the Make Arma Not War contest that featured an in-game screenshot of a civilian model submarine, and I can not find the actual addon anywhere. It might help if I knew the actual name of the sub, but I have no idea what they are called. It's one of those 1-3 person subs with the optional manipulator arms they use for filming or salvage.

This is most appropriately placed in the "Addon Request Thread". I'll note though that while it looks like something perfectly suitable for Arma 3 (and, considering some remarks about submarine simulation in Arma 3 being really designed around the SDV, I'll add that "it's of the right size"), I'm not sure of a gameplay role for the manipulator arms...

Nice idea, if dealing with 2D 'textured' optics a la OFP style. However, trying to incorporate such techniques and ideas in a 3D modelled sight (particularly one in an engine such as this that has no method AFAIK to detect when the sight is being aimed down it or not) would likely wind up looking shit bad.

I'm looking for sandbox-type singleplayer mod which would allow me to choose my side - NATO/CSAT/FIA/AAF - take some squad members, maybe vehicles and do randomly generated missions on Altis. I'm thinking of something similar to 'patrol missions' while in FIA campaign like "Immobilizd Armor" or "Weapons Dealer". It would be nice if there was a base in which I could recruit squad members, bring back captured vehicles and weapons.

Currently, the only way to know 100% whether your gun's barrel is aiming outside or at the obstacle 1 foot ahead of you is by using the arcade-style crosshair. Many communities choose to disable the crosshair because it sort-of feels like hip-firing but then you lose the ability to know where the bore is, and you end up shooting at walls, trees, stones, etc.

A mod that can still indicate this without being an arcade-y crosshair would be amazing!

-EDIT: Simple idea on how to implement this: The crosshair is dynamic by default, it changes according to stance/movement/etc. Make the crosshair wider than the screen so it is constantly outside of the screen's borders BUT make it fall back into the middle in situations where the bore is less than 0.5m away from a target.

The Idea

My request is for a large flying vehicle, that flies similar to helicopters (so it's a VTOL).

For those who don't know what a VTOL is it's Vertical Take off and Landing, for example helicopters and harrier Jets.

The special thing I'm looking for is a large cargo area/Drop Zone. In terms of size I'd want to be able to carry 8 mraps. I thin with 2 rows so 4 mraps could go on one side and 4 on the other. There would be a door below the cargo that would slide open from the middle.

The cargo would be attached to framework so when the hatch is open they don't just fall through. The player can then use an action to drop the cargo.

The cargo I think should be configurable, so you can set what can be transported and how many slots it takes up. For example if it's got 20 slots, I could carry 4 tanks (At 5 slots each), or 5 Ifrits (3 slots each), or 20 ammo boxes (1 slot each). But if it's configurable to be able to add Mod things in to.

So for example in "The Eridanus Insurrection" Mod things like the drop pod could be carried about 8 per carrier, and all be released from any altitude.

This would allow all sorts of heavy air drops.

For me the cargo should be customized whether it floats down with parachutes or just free-falls the reason for this is the drop pods I'm referring to should fall as fast as possible nothing slowing them down, where as if I'm dropping ammo or tanks they'd want to be gently delivered.

For crew I think having (For Variants see below):

a Pilot

Co-pilot

Main Gunner Left

Main Gunner Right

Rear Gunner

Cargo Master 1 (Only Cargo Variants)

Cargo Master 2 (Only Cargo Variants)

Versions

I was looking at 4 version of this craft, 2 that fit into vanilla Arma, and 2 futuristic (Sci-fi) ones

The first Version would be the Modern Cargo Carrier Version named the "MC-01"

This ones design would be made to fit the Nato Faction, sporting the before mentioned Cargo slots.

The Second Version would be the Modern Mass Troop Carrier named the "MC-02" code-named "Lights Out"

This ones design would be made to fit the Nato Faction. this would work the same way as the cargo variant but with people in stead, so the seats are suspended and then all the cargo slots can be ejected, parachutes should be given to people automatically when ejecting and have their gear returned on landing.

The next 2 version in function are the same as the MC-01 and 02

But these should be futuristic so they would fit into mods such as the Eridanus Insurrection.

The cargo Variant being named as "MM-UU2" Codenamed "Crucible"

The troop Variant being nameed as "MMT-UU4" Codenamed "Phoebus"

Other Features

A back ramp to make a plausible way of loading up while the vehicles are landed (Open and Close Animations (Has to be open for cargo to be loaded)).

The Cargo Door should open and close as mentioned before Cargo Should only be able to be ejected when open.

Landing Gears

NO sling loading

All 3 guns should have a minigun, AP, AA, AG, and AT weapons of sufficient ammo to drop into very hot situations.

All variants should be heavily Armoured but with weak points, so it should be able to go into a tank war to drop reinforcements and fly away. But it's engines should be weaker than the main hull, etc. So they're not invincible just require a good shot

In the modern day this would mean the modern variants would need to be slow and quite hindered in terms of handling.

In the future version they should be lighter and faster, but burn fuel quicker.

All seats should be able to be ejected from but ejection by this method rather than as a "Cargo Drop" should not give the units a parachute.

The unit should come with flares to make it for it's lack of speed.

Yo, I've been thinking about this for a long time, so...can someone make a Sangheili/Elite (those super cute creatures from Halo) mod for Arma 3? I'm super sick of all this human shiz in this game and I want a change. I'd prefer it if you make the 'Reach' or Halo 3 kind, and not the Halo 4 kind cuz the Halo 4 ones are ugly.

... so what you really isn't even a crosshair, just a "you're pointing at your cover" icon, that (unlike the regular crosshair that makes this indication) isn't tied to the crosshair settings.

@BullHorn: I use norrin's "Rifle Collision Addon" in A2/CO which I like a lot. If you are at a corner, crouching near a rock, etc., your rifle is automatically lowered. Lean out/pop up and your rifle automatically returns to your shoulder.

Norrin has a version for A3 that I haven't tried yet, maybe that will prove useful to you?

First, I'm not sure if a "proper port" could exist to your standards without "the water line glitch" being solved, and if lack of ponds means that it can't be solved (properly)... second, who even has the rights to CLAfghan anyway?

Noticing that there's no EuroCopter lakotas. It would be interesting to see those as well as OH58 Kiowas. Would also be fun to see some Marine vehicles and Naval Vehicles on RHS: Armed Forces ;)

is there any mod or script which can allow the helicopter pilot to control the gunner's turret? Exactly like in Franze's apache mod, but universal for all gunships, not just implemented for a specific model.

Please make a mod that disables sitting stance - i use key modifier with W and S to go higher/lower, and never saw a need to use sitting stance, which is rather dorky. PM me if you can do this :)

An all-volunteer force and highly motivated force dedicated to essentially protecting its own and the theocratic regime's international interests, they receive the bulk of Iran's modern equipment. They number about 100,000-120,000 men. This includes the Naval Infantry component as well. Their newest standard rifle is claimed to be an upgraded version of the Norinco M16 copy seen in the photo.

Tasked with defending the borders and of course acting as a formal army, Iran's army is mainly made up of conscripts who receive professional military training. Their standard issue rifle is the G3A3 locally produced in Iran, with the MGA3 (Iranian copy of the German MG3) serving as its main heavy machine gun.

Im thinking of just mixing the CSAT and AAF equipment together, perhaps adding in the khaki tactical vests for the standard infantry. I believe this would suffice for the time being in order to replace CSAT forces with retextured and contemporary looking Iranian units. Iranian soldiers, excluding artillery and logistics troops, are switching over to an Iranian copy of both the PASGT and German modern helmets, so something like the AAF MICH would do the job.
