Feedback:

Your vehicle spawner with the laptop is simple and really nice and easy to use. Cheers, confirmed it works with mods, we are using CUP and MELB.

 

Respawn zone is huge. I’d make it the same area you start off at when coming into the game.

 

Getting an error. A missing sqf or function for spawn all aircraft. Doesn’t break the game. 
 

Sucks the weather system is broken. Would be nice to have a weather system or way to manage the haze, fog, ceilings, etc.

 

Again, awesome work with this mission. I’ve been playing with it everyday.

I am heavily interested in a repro or a screenshot - the "spawn all aircraft" should have been removed for a while now (since laptop spawn has been introduced)

Oh, how is it broken? For info, in MP the options allow you to set the starting weather value - it will then evolve randomly the same way the game would do.

The SP laptop allows you to set weather and reset fog, but I didn't want to have these options on the MP laptop to maybe prevent abuse from some players (trolling by "day/night/day/night")

I could still do it and set an MP param to allow for some settings or not.

PS: a new task system version is on its way, which should not change anything visually except that the task marker will not be spot on the enemy group leader's vehicle for more immersion (detection + engagement)

It should also allow for more types of objectives… stay tuned!

Yes, this file has been removed as well as the "spawn all assets" MP option - unless Steam didn't update the file properly or one tampered with the pbo, there is no reason for it to happen… 🤔
I will check Steam.

 

UPDATE: I checked, and the description.ext CfgFunctions reference was not removed - and didn't trigger an error in Eden. Weird! Thanks for the report, fixed in the next update.

Hello, another update on the loose!  A quite interesting one I hope, please see the changelog below:

  • Add Radio Chatter on/off action (not immediate, played sound will end first)
  • Fix "forever incomplete task" in singleplayer
  • Fix potential action issue - a plane can be disabled then repaired
  • Add convoy and building kill voice
  • Fix SP dynamicViewDistance bug
  • Fix base bug and setting translation
  • Add featureType (visibility) option for task objects
  • Add all SP laptop options to MP (+ hint mentioning who used the laptop)
  • Fix ambient anims locality - work in MP now
  • Add IFF
  • Add noise cancellation option
  • Fix officer's desk and add healing location close to respawn

One more (and last?) update to this mission - it has now reached a full mature state from my POV, so unless suggestions are made or bugs are found it should remain more or less like this 🙂
Suggestions are still and always welcome!

  • Fix SP intro and increase on-foot NATO 3D marker disappear radius

  • Fix IFF with multiple players in the same vehicle or player in destroyed vehicle

Hi @strayer49, first a big thank you for the translation! I will of course add your name to the changelog.

 

Regarding the spawned air assets bug, it is actually by design: since you can spawn an unlimited amount of air assets, I decided to make it a "manual" respawn - wrecks are (or at least, should be) automatically deleted by the game's garbage collector.

Arma3 - Eden Editor Tutorial - Auto Repair Rearm Refuel Planes

 

Can you take a look at this video?  I think this kind of maintenance should be more convenient.  Some friends complained to me that their wings would hit the car while the plane was being repaired, and the car would block the plane.😂

 

If I wanted to add two OPFPR pilots, what would I do to give them the ability to also have earplugs and Change Hud colors?

 

I’ve tried adding two OPFOR pilots directly, but they don’t have those options (earplugs, Hud, etc.) .

if you are good, you can avoid the truck 😛 "just" parking (close) behind one of them is enough, no need to face it. I will check if there is a "sexier" way (maybe placing a truck on each side is enough)

it works… if they get in while in the "nato_area" marker. I suppose you would have to edit the LM_fnc_initSpawnedPlayer function and remove/update that condition.
if you remove it, note that selecting loadout (and all the other options) will be available everywhere, even when landing on the salt lake!
I may update it as well so at least the earplugs/HUD options are available (this indeed should not depend on location)

@strayer49, I updated (not published yet) so the pilot actions (but loadout) are available to pilots not getting in "nato_area". As well, the IFF will only list same-side air vehicles.

Hi, it’s me again.  Is it possible to turn the music off with a button instead of the player turning the music down on the Audio?  Sometimes the music sounds so...

first point I love your scenario.

I'd like to ask you some questions.

- Would there be the possibility of also having some tasks concerning helicopter search and rescue?

- Could you create "safe" areas to fly without the danger of being shot down by SAMs?

- Are you going to expand the tasks also for any land vehicles or infantry?

- I am thinking about it, it would be an interesting task to do but maybe not that easy at first glance; I have to think it properly!

- safe areas… AA tasks can be disabled on the laptop, and I could add an option to disable random AAs if that suits you?

- I thought about expanding tasks for land vehicles/infantry as well, but… it may not be air-centered after that and I don't know if I want/can manage the whole island this way
  maybe I will think of something (another mission maybe?) where an AI is threatening a players' base and where every aspect of Arma is used in the fight.

One update on the go! @strayer49, I stole your idea to have opfor slots. @sberla101, you can now disable random Altis AA 😉

 

Add two opfor slots - random airplanes only
Add opfor respawn freeze time
Add opfor loadout selector
Add laptop option to turn ambient music on/off
Add enable/disable random AA laptop option

Add MP overview text
Add vehicle skin randomisation and selection option
Add vehicle action restrictions, limited to driver only
Add "truck" icon to convoys
Add 25/50/75 marks for task chance sliders
Update IFF script to only show same-side airplanes
Set IFF icons as non-scaling
Fix actions (but loadout) to be available away from the airport
Fix performance slightly
Fix mortars and AA to the ground
Fix general and MP issues
Fix target/destroy task icon randomisation
Fix dynamic view distance script issue with fast vertical speeds
