Maverick-sbs- 1 Posted July 24, 2020 Formed in 2018 orginally as 2nd Battalion the mercian regiment, 40 Commando take years of military experience and combines it into the confines and limitations of the Armed assault series. Members who are or have served in the British army and RAF regulars and reserves both at Officer and non commissioned ranks, this brings a realistic flavour into the community but also balances that with great humour which is incredibly important to us as we all play for fun at the end of the day. There is no politics or red tape in this community however we have a rank structure to facilitate leadership, provide progression for members and keep tactics fluid. Above all we are a stable and friendly community who love to relax and have fun. We are keen to embrace all prospective member experience whether that may be Arma Life RPG, Milsim or real life experience it is important that we harness all of it into the community to continuously make it a better place. We will never stop learning from each other. With that in mind we cater for people who are brand new to arma/milsim so do not be perplexed. Furture Commando Force: The Royal Marines is undergoing the biggest shake up in its history, currently RM are transitioning on the C8 carbine platform and crye Generation 4 Combat fighting ordfer. this is somthing we have embraced at 40 commando with Custom modifications ............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................ Training Commando training Centre: Basic training comprises all section level battle drills, Marksmenship, OIBUA/CQB etc Every single member including those who founded the community have been through this package. It is designed to bring everyone onto the same page and is not about teaching people to suck eggs. The more experience you bring to the table the richer and faster your training will be, however there is no place for people who are cocksure and are likely to be 'Jack' Progression Those who are impassioned to the community will get the chance to take promotion courses and could find themselves in rewarding leadership positions within the community or heading up specialized attachments. Attachments: Commando Helicopter command: - Providing transport, logistics and Close air support to infantry, CHF fly a number of air frames including the famous Wildcat AH1 and Merlin HC4 commando Varient. Commando Logistics Regiment: Providing Combat Service Support to 3 commando Brigade including: - Commando Helicopter Force - Medical Sqaudron - Landing Force Support Squadron - Viking Squadron - Equipment Support Squadron - Logistics Support Squadron - Commando Engineers Squadron - Commando Royal Artillery Squadron ................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................ Operations: Operations are run on Thursday and Sunday evenings at 20:00hrs. campaigns are run month by month with a period of RSOI(Reception, staging, onward movement and integration) prior to entering theatre. We run many different types of deployment from counter insurgency, peacekeeping and conventional warfare. All campaigns are made in house by our incredible operations development team.
