gitrinec 6 Posted January 13, 2020 What would be a good size for a vast mountainous terrain landscape, would 8192×30 look ok. It's around 51800 km2. So guessing I have to make it larger to fit in at 60398 km2? Or does 8192×30 look too blocky? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
m1lkm8n 410 Posted January 13, 2020 Honestly if this your first terrain I would stay away from a heightmap of 8192 and stick with 4096. I would also stay away from a terrain that big unless you are planning on placing only veg. Or or at the very least start with a small test terrain to get the basics down first. RoF 240 Posted January 13, 2020 Depends what you trying to do: If its a flight only map then 30m will be fine, through you shouldn't use 8192 grid as its broke. If you want vehicles and infantry, then 30m will be awful. You can say goodbye to trenches or any sort of terrain detail. Also it's unlikely you will ever finish a map of that size to any degree of good detail, 100s of people have tried and failed before you. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
