Does this actually fix the lighting problem, or does it just change a few of the presets?

I mean, does this fix the pitch black nights?

Does anyone have any pictures using this mod?

I just tried this mod.

I did not get a "Pre-Apex lighting" effect, I got some muted colors effect.

I can say that the problem with the extremely dark nights was still present using this mod.

I'm not criticizing the mod, some people may like the effect, but it did not give the pre-Apex lighting.

Hmph? Muted? Could you send screenshots please?

Did you increase the saturation by the way? Take it up to 150, that's how you make it look more like it.

Be sure to set Brightness to 0.5 and don't touch any other settings.

OK, regarding people wanting CUP, it is probably on the way.

I will download CUP and have a look at it if I can change it.

I recently uninstalled CUP because I switched to vanilla and wanted to save space but here I go back.

A few weeks ago I tried this on Takistan and sadly it does not work on Takistan.

Today, I tried it on Diyala and it worked.

I tried it on Utes but not Chernarus too, and it also worked.

So stay tuned guys, Diyala Iraq version and CUP East European maps will be coming.

Gonna make those British Iraq campaigns look good again!

Edit:

I also don't think Takistan currently requires custom lighting.

You can make Takistan look really good by decreasing brightness and saturation, it gives Takistan the A2 feel.

Edit-2:

Takistan already has custom lighting, by the way.

For example you ever see those hard shadows on houses and vehicles?

That's custom.

Dark nights were present and will always be present. That's why we have Night Vision goggles.

If you do not put the date to a Full Moon, then the night will be dark just like in real life.

But if you put the date on a day where there is full moon, the night will be bright.

Also if you have your contrast set above 105, your nights will look very dark no matter what.

This applies for brightness.

Yet another comment.

BTW if you guys have ever seen it, pre-Apex vanilla and some maps like Kunduz had this weird, yellowish color filter.

This filter was strong at 1200 hours, or during the day.

I recommend download ReColor

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=649832908

if you want to try and replicate this effect. One of my favourite mods!

Just a thought, since your doing all this work on updates, you should take a minute which is all it takes if that to actually put together your mod

like any mod and host it so others dont have to "create" the mod format for themselves.

Couple of recommendations is to put the mod on SW (Steam Workshop) as its easier to update then it is to keep changing

out files and adding new ones, also alot easier for players to download then go to an external site with all kinds of ads and such.

Lastly add some screenshots in your OP to show what the game looks like before and after you apply the mod as not eveyone knows or remembers what

preapex lighting looks like, screenshots will help give your mod more attention.

Hey guys.

Is there anyone here willing to take some screenshots of the new lighting?

I'm going to make a polished steam workshop upload.

If you take them please link screenshots with a comment.

I'm not good with screenshots.

I'll do some and will send them to you in... 3 hours.

The first time I tested it and I don't feel any pre-apex lightning in Vanilla version. I found out that I need to change the saturation to from 100 to 150 as you said. I thought it would automatically change to pre-apex lightning.
And for real deal, the only thing I would ask for is the blue sky. Since I enabled this mod, the sky is grey as my pictures here.

Spoiler

Saturation setting between 100 and 150.

But if "this is it. This is what this mod does" so I have no problem.

I kinda like it tho for some screenshots. 😄

Since I am retarded the fog color has become white and the sky is white during the day and a muted blue during the sunsets.

I will change these to blue.

Sad Edit:

Tried many combinations,

I tried changing the sky color, didn't work.

Tried changing other color assets, didn't work.

Tried to use some oldSky assets as the skybox, didn't work.

I'm sorry but as far as I can see this is the final version of the mod.

No blue sky or fog. But it still looks good, yes lads?

Hell yeah, it is for me tho. Love it.

Here. I made a vanilla album first. Tomorrow I will do Diyala and CUPs.

https://www.pixiv.net/en/artworks/77890716 [Yeah, I upload my work on Japanese most drawing artwork....]

Thank you so much for your album, all have been uploaded to Steam Workshop and you have been given credit.

I will be uploading your CUP screenshots when you link them too!

Excellent work  but 150 in saturation is too much for my taste. 105 is enough and I like the looks of it.

Could be just a side effect but... What surprised me was that vanilla flares and chemlights FUNCTION again as pre-Visual Upgrade!

Many thanks!

Hello,

this mod is real fantastic, it gives better performance and normal looking visuals = )

however... for the CUP ones, the Desert_E map is still using arma 3 blue sky, at least for me.

and can you tell me exactly why shouldnt load more than 2 lighting changers ?

Better performance? I don' think so! The creator didn't even mention that you get better performance by using this mod .
