As i feel its very important to know about this, i will be paraphrasing my response to a question on steam in a more informative manner for those interested in my mod or seeking to make suggestions.

 

1. Dependencies

The project will never have any dependencies on any other mod, in addition the assets(textures ofc) contained within will be of my own making or mostly of my own making with all credit to those who did provide help being given publically.

 

2. Why no OPFOR version of the faction, why blufor, why not only independent?

I felt that BohemiaInteractive made a mistake with the contact dlc by making the LDF an independent faction, although i understand that they did this for gameplay reasons throughout the campaign, the LDF being on the independent side instead of the blufor side makes them not even feel like a member of NATO (therefore BLUFOR), which is what they should've been in the wider context of the game. So to address this, and as part of my creative changes done to the faction, i made a BLUFOR version of the LDF Desert faction. I only created the independent version of the LDF Faction so that mission makers could have the flexibility they need, or so that those who disagree with my stance on the faction not being in BLUFOR can still get that independent functionality.

 

Lastly, i find keeping changes to one faction no matter how miniscule, consistent across BLUFOR and INDEP to be time consuming and boring enough as it is, i'd rather not add a third side to the mix.

 

(If you're the steam user i responded too, i hope you understand that this isnt some anger post and that theres no hard feelings, just that i feel like its very important for me to get this point across to everyone using my mod, about to use my mod, or about to make suggestions)

Personal update

I haven't had the motivation to work on the mod lately (dw, i'l take a look at armoured vehicles hopefully next month perhaps), but for the most part development wont continue for the time being outside of a minor update to replace some weapons the CBRN specialists are using with either the black or desert stuff. 

 

In the meantime i'l maybe occasionally work on some sideprojects ive been creating while i've been developing this mod, so you should expect to see a few small mods from me pop up in the steam workshop relatively soon. Nothing big enough to warrant its own forum thread. Finally, happy holidays to everyone!

AWC 302 łasica will be the LDF's version of the Nyx, it will have garage compatibility so you can set the colour of the camo net. So far i have only semi-completed the Recon variant.

Work on the Nyx textures, specifically the AT variant is underway, i intend to revist and refine the main body and radar textures before moving onto the cannon variant of the vehicle. At the moment im not exactly happy with how the textures have come out at this stage, but nonetheless here are a few photos

Crew members have been given P90's, as not only are they more compact than the Promet, but also the fact that the vanilla LDF already uses them.

Note: This wasn't the final gun i settled on, i chose the Khaki version with the integrated sights for the crew members.

So it turns out that merely increasing the size of the camo layer exponenitally increased my satisfaction with the textures, still got some degredation stuff to work on for the main body at least.

UPCOMING

I discovered the other day that the Polish special forces possess the real life version of the Hunter, the M-ATV, so i decided to take some creative liberty and create an LDF Variant of the Hunter MRAP, called the Łowca

Welp ive gotten around to increasing the Zeus compat of the mod, by next update you should notice that you can access vehicles even when zeus isnt set to use all addons (including unofficial), However generally it is much preferred to ensure the Gamemaster module accepts All + Unofficial addons.

 

Other than a few tweaks to the texture of the APC and the AWC, i'm gonna be looking at a retexture of CSAT's Neophron CAS jet, it was bought to my attention that there is an Italian version (Pictured below) of the Neophrons IRL version , the YAK-130 so im gonna be looking at Livoniafying it, complete with NATO ordanance and POTENTIALLY an altered cockpit idk. If i go through with the project i might call it the M-346C (M-346 is its normal name, with various other designations, but im gonna add C to the end of it to reflect the fact that the Neophron is a single seater.)

I got the jet looking the way i wanted, and i managed to get it equipped with NATO weapons (not pictured)

Bad news

Jet has been cancelled because the Neophrons configs r a bit screwed up and frustrating to work and inherit from, i just cant get it working right with any ordanance changes.

Desert LDF Retexture has finally reached 2000+ subscribers on the steam workshop, big thanks to everyone who basically taught me how to mod this game and or supported me, its thanks to people like you that my first mod has this many subs.
