Naah, I just couldn't think of any similar weapons pack out there wink.gif, but you're right that there's no need for any competition.

Also please if it's not hard, make the goggles positionable like in BAS' units. Then it would be up to mission maker if he want's to set goggles down for some AIs.

It seems that we have almost our own VBS1 soon if these quality addons continue coming out biggrin.gif.

dear BAS, please don't limit yourself to army-only stuff.

if you guys join forces (ha ha, is that not a most humorous pun?) think of the time and effort you could save! No time wasted on making SOPMOD M4's for suchey, so earl. can get busy on theose m16's!

do it for the love of Zeus

Earl just sent me the latest developments in the M16s and they are lookin sweet! In addition, I think Im going to add the drop leg gassmask bag the the Marine units. Ive found a way to shave a few extra faces so I can add them for the bag. Im also gonna add some dirt to the knees and various places to give him a more "working" feel. The blood textures are pretty well done...I went in a bit of a different direction with the wounds than most of the units I've seen out and about so I hope everyone likes them. Ill be changing the screenshot when I have the gassmask bag in place and skinned properly.

Chaz has a good point. The MOUT marines, which you're not making, use the mp5 with cmag. Now as you know mout marines work in urban terrain (the ut part in mout. I forget the mo stands for.) If you could make some mout marines and a proper fast attack vehicle that would be awesome.

Edit: Not really a fast attack vehicle, but like those dunebuggy's with the tandem seats where one seat is higher than the other.

Ive been doing some work on the first person perspective and Ive been able to get the hands to actually hold the weapon rather than clip into it and look like a hamhock glued to the rifle. Its not perfect on every weapon, but for most of them its a bit of an improvement. I tried to fix up the holding of the LAW as well, but was only able to get it fixed to a minor degree...the wrist completely disconnects when the soldier holds the law (as can be seen on the default soldier models)...so there isnt a whole lot I can do about that...but at least part of it is fixed!

Updated the pic with progress Ive completed on the sniper thus far. The basics are very loosley based on the Ghost Recon Sniper as I liked the ghille suit colors and pants.

I had actually considered using the urban "block" cammo on the assault force recon unit, but it makes them stick out like a sore thumb. It certainly DOES look really nice, but for right now Im going to concentrate primarily on the MARPAT. What comes after that...I have no idea, but Id certainly like to try my hand at making some Russians at some point. What happens after the MARPAT Marines is still very much up in the air.

Vixer...thanks for the offer. Im not sure what I will decide to do in regard to the goggles yet...There are really only a couple of units that would benefit from the animation. The rifleman unit would require that the goggles slide through solid areas of the helmet and I havent decided how Im going to go about putting the goggles on the bonnie hat units (if at all). Ill probably end up leaving the goggles as static objects. I would love to know how you made the backpack removable!

Russians please wink.gif. Looking great, will these guys have a simulated body armour (increased hitpoints)?

Hey dude, how about making some similar script like the one from the Dutch marines? But instead of putting on their beret/helmet, you could use something like put on gasmask. You could then create missions where you would come under attack by some biological/chemical agent and you have to put on you're bio suit or else you die. Just an idea though.

The Marines will not have increased hit points...the reason for this is because my personal primary use for the Marines will be for on-line adversarial play and I want to allow them to be easily faced against enemy units.

The gasmask idea is great! Unfortunately, I think hiding the modeling for the gasmask in addition to the default face/goggles, etc would make the final facecount too high and negatively impact performance...HOWEVER...a Marine with a gasmask already on is certainly not out of the question. I may look into creating that as part of the pack...it would be a seperate unit so that face count doesnt get out of hand.

Where would you use them? All the cities are only a few blocks in size, then everything is green again.

And then we will have hundreds of Americans and not enough bad guys to fight.
