Does WINE mitigate the case sensitive problem linux has with mods

Recommended Posts

Hello I'm currently trying to host a headless client on Linux but I'm running into issues where the mod that my unit uses have capital names in their pbo's which from my understanding is a big no no. When I manually rename the mods pbos the sounds of the guns firing stops working when the ai gets transferred over to the HC.

Side note: The HC works completely fine when I'm using other mods which do not have capital letters in their pbo names

So my question is could I use wine to get around the mod incompatibility problem. I would prefer to know before hand to not have to redownload all the mods again.

If the pbo's name breaks anything in the mod itself, then its a badly written mod and you probably shouldn't use that.
It probably doesn't have a pboprefix.

Thing is we don't have an alternative.

The mod we are having a problem with is "There is Only War Mod - Release 5 BETA"

are you just renaming the pbos to lowercase without changing their actual name?

Filenames arma-internal are all lowercase anyway. So as long as you keep the same letters, that shouldn't change anything.
