Battleye Blocked loading of file with unsupported UNC network path

when i try to play arma 3 from my nas network location battleye prompts

22:42:29: Starting BattlEye Service...

22:42:34: Launching game...
22:44:06: Note: File blocks can be ignored if they don't cause problems with the game.
22:44:06: [INFO] Blocked loading of file with unsupported UNC network path: "\\x.x.x.x\somevolume\somefolder\Arma 3\arma3_x64.exe".
22:44:06: Failed to launch game.

what can i do about it?

already tried to make symbolic link with mklind /D

also tried to run as administrator

 

i am using win 10. btw other games working fine with no problems

I have the same problem. The strange thing is that I managed to play more than once with network configuration and path mapped as a network drive. Then suddenly it doesn’t work anymore and I have to reinstall. 80 gb to occupy are not easy to find 🙂

You can move the pbo's/mods to a NAS and symlink them in.

 

How I did it:

Link NAS as a drive with a drive letter, in my case Z so I have Z:\Arma 3\Expansion as Apex DLC folder

Then create a symlink for Z:\Arma 3\Expansion into SteamApps\common\Arma 3\Expansion

Then Arma will load all the Apex DLC pbo's via the symlink, via the network drive from the NAS.

You maybe cannot do that with binaries, but with pbo's. Meaning almost all mods and the game's main content which is 99.8% of the total game size anyway.
