Getting Aliens to Engage with the editor in Contact DLC

Has anyone figured out how to make the aliens engage you in the editor? , ive placed with units down and then placed opposing force infantry, but they don't return fire and I dont see anything in the modules that would help.

To gain access to this, You must follow the scripting way of life padawan....

You need to wait that some people unPbo the campaign, look at all script, and transmit them here

I don't think the alien drones have weapons.

In the campaign, could it be the alien entity calls in artillary from mothership (very rapid and effective artilary)? 

Maybe that is why, but I am just guessing.
