Guest Posted July 4, 2019 ArmA 3 is crashing with and without mods when attempting to load into any server, or when I am already in a server during play. There is no error, the application simply closes and I can find no RPT files. I have heard that headsets can cause issues with ARmA, however I play with 2 friends who actively use the exact model (Arctis 7, SteelSeries) of headset on the same operating system and have no issues. I tried to play without my headset's receiver plugged in and that worked but I obviously had no PC sound and afterwards could not really find anything that worked, including disabling the headset in Windows settings. It also does not help that it is mostly intermittent, with the closest thing to consistency being helicopter rotors. Please see below for details:When it has happened: - When helicopter rotors spin nearby (consistent, multiple types) - Right at the end of a loading screen - While driving - While riding as a passenger - While running in a fieldWhere it has happened: - Modded Exile servers (Chernarus map) - King of the Hill serversWhat I have tried: - Adding the following to launch parameters - "-nobenchmark" -"maxMem=8168" -"enableHT" - Launching via A3Launcher - Launching via Arma's vanilla launcher - Launching with and without mods - Reinstalling all game files and mods 3 times - Verifying files via steam and A3Launcher more times than I care to count - Changing NVidia Physix processing over to the CPU - Moving ArmA to another audio device by disabling others. - Updating graphics drivers - Updating headset software - Still more that I probably can't remember at this timeSystem Specifications: - Intel i7 7700k - 16GB RAM - Nvidia GTX1070 - VRAM 8088MB - Shared 8161 - OS installed on SSD, game installed on traditional HDD, secondary
Guest Posted July 4, 2019 As an aside, my current setup is the same one I used to run ArmA previously. The router, network speeds, motherboard, etc. The only differences lie in the headset and graphics card.

Why do you ask here then? 7 hours ago, oneshotpaddy said: - When helicopter rotors spin nearby (consistent, multiple types) Yep that sounds exactly like the USB headset problem

Yep that sounds exactly like the USB headset problem Well, I hate to say it, but with 2 other people in close proximity who use the exact model with the same game mods, on the same servers and the same operating system, can an argument be made that it is something else? I'd hate to have to buy another 80+ USD headset just because Bohemia can't update their game to work with USB headsets like the rest of the world.
