MP missions on dedicated server

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

our MP server is on 1.92 and offers Weferlingen as a terrain, but no MP missions are available. Is this on purpose? We'd like playing them on our dedicated server instead of self hosting. Am I missing something here?

Thanks,

Kasimir

YAY! simple solution Kasimir if the maps are showing on your dedicated server then simply add   gm;   to your command start line.

if you are not running any other mods then add -mod=gm;  and the missions to go with the Summer/winter maps should now show. 🕺

Thanks jgaz, but sadly our server is not a root server, so that's not an option. I'm currently also investigating with our provider. Nothing new so far.

So you don't run any mods at all then?

I would have thought all dedicated Servers have to have a commandline to start the game up?

We do run mods, but we don't have root access, so no command line. It's all run through a web interface.

Thank you for this golden nugget of information!

Same here, running a rented virtual server with mods (uploaded via ftp). No clue how to run the GM mod and the coop missions. Any ideas?

Just add

gm;

to your -mod= list for the server startup.

Kasimir Wow! no access to server start up? not good. Who edits the commandline/startup to include your addons? Ask them to add gm; for you.

We rent a server from "https://fragnet.net/?page=gameservers" Admin (4 of us) has full access to edit mods, update steam, upload addons edit the inits pretty much everything. not too expensive we share the cost between about a dozen of us.

We have to manually copy mods over through FTP and "activate" them afterwards in a web interface. Then they are added to the server startup command line. Since I can't upload it, I can't add it to the command line.

Provider is g-portal.

Thx Mondkalb and thanks for the nice DLC ;). Unfortunately I am in the same situation as Kasimir, I don't have complete access to all server settings. It's just a small one with a Web interface, editable server.cfg not much more. Mods on the ftp server  are automatically recognized and I can activate them via the interface.

I will contact my provider Gportal  to see what they can do. Thanks again!

Kasimir we are in the same situation with Gportal apparently... I will create a ticket there and will share any progress with them here

Tobur, I already have one open, let's see what happens. My guess is they will offer a specialised GM server like they did with apex.

Kasimir Activate gm exactly the same way you do any other mod, that has to work.

jgaz I can't. There is no menu entry gm available to activate. I even tried creating a folder named @gm, thus making the gportal administration system believe there is a mod called gm and create the menu entry to activate. That even works, but basically doesn't change anything. I can't select any of the coop missions.

I do see Weferlingen (the map). The missions are not there. I could probably create a Weferlingen mission, upload and play it.

First you don't have to actually upload anything just "activate" it in a web interface.

You said you DO run addons on your Dedicated server, so someone at sometime some how must have added/activated them to the server start up for you to use! So go through the same process that you did to be able to use your current addons & have the 2 letters gm activated. That will have all the new GM DLC missions showing automatically!  for example   @isladuala;gm;@Lingor3; etc, etc,  just the 2 letters added in there is all it takes, as I said nothing to upload.

If you are not running any addons (you did say previous you were) then fair enough your are out of options sorry m8 😧

Hey,

thanks for your effort, editing the @ string is known. But for Gportal there is just no possibility to add anything regarding mods / DLCs manually. The Gportal webinterface looks automatically for @xxx folders on the server and lets us activate/deactivate it only with a button. See here

or I am totally nuts🤔

I guess this is the drawback for cheap / small slot servers.... I also created a ticket to the provider, they need to solve this I guess

@Kasimirafter my ticket Gportal now implemented a switch for GM DLC content. You can find it under basic settings

@Kasimir@Kasimir so after I finally got the mod set on the server, how about the coop missions? How to start them on a dedicated server?
