ACE3 - Cannot disable instant death

Recommended Posts

The update to ACE3 back in November seems to have had a bizarre effect, in that the "prevent instant death" setting in ACE Medical (PCs are instead rendered unconscious and must be revived) does not seem to be working. This has basically crippled the small group I Zeus for, since our playstyle revolves around members of a small team being able to epi/heal each other even after severe injuries. Death only comes from bleed-out (team took too long) or manually releasing.

In the older ACE system with modules on the map, I just set the "instant death" option in the ACE medical module to "no" in each module, and we were fine. However, since the update and the consequent switch to using the "addon options" menu for everything it doesn't work.

I use a headless client on a separate machine to host our games. I have gone into the ACE Medical options for both Server (while running a game) and Mission (in 3DEN Editor) and enabled the "Prevent Instant Death" checkbox. I load up a mission that I made with the setting enabled, check that the server also has the option enabled, and a single AI headshot kills players.

What's weird is that this is true both on the headless client and when I self-host missions. When another member of my group creates a test mission and hosts it, the setting works as normal.

What am I missing? What am I doing wrong? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I am happy to provide mod lists, copies of files, or whatever other information upon request. Thank you all in advance for your assistance and advice. 🙂

I think it's best you ask this question in the ace 3 topic

Gladly. Where exactly in the forum is that? It's so subdivided I have no idea where anything is. 🙂
