Interesting article. I watched some years ago a document about Chernobyl wildlife and I was amazed how easily nature adapted itself to the post-explosion land, and how fast it started to thrive.

 

BTW: for those interested in how much background radiation is around us there's always a helpful XKCD.

Off topic, but since we speak of BBC shows, I highly recommend The Looming Towers!
