Ryan Maris 0 Posted January 27, 2019 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team MilSim About the Unit: The 173rd Airborne Brigade is a combat milsim unit that has been in Operation since November 18th, 2012. Our unit takes pride in providing a premier airborne and light infantry combat experience in the Arma 3 community. Our unit works hard to embody the honor of the real life 173rd and works to implement real-world fighting tactics. We currently have over 70 active personal alongside our reservists. The unit is split into two platoons, Legion 1 and 2, which are divided into squads, along with 12th CAB who provide transportation to and from the battlefield in the form of helicopters along with other roles such as providing close air support. Current Operation: Going into 2019 the 173rd ABCT kicked off Operation Jungle Freedom on January 12th with Operation Safe Vote, as part of our deployment to the Republic of Lingor. Legion Company was tasked with defending civilian polling sites from enemy harassment along with locating and destroying enemy encampments and logistical support. After being attacked en-masse by enemy forces while protecting the polling sites in last weeks operation, our unit will now take the fight to the enemy in an offensive to try and prevent them from regrouping and resupplying in their northern flank. We also learned that this paramilitary force is much stronger than initially anticipated and is much more similar to a conventional military force than the guerrilla band we had suspected they were.
